there is a link between mercury and strep and we know mercury is implicated in autism.  I think the link is that strep can turn the "harmless" form of mercury into the harmful form of mercury (methyl mercury?) in the body.  To find out more, do an internet search using the words strep and mercury.

I am concerned myself about the link of Autism and Group B Strep. My son is 3 years old and is Autistic and I tested Positive Group B Strep.  I am pregnant with our 3rd child now and am really worried of the risk of him being affected the same way.

I lost my first child one day after he was born due to a B-strep infection.  I subsequently had another little boy who was diagnosed with autism when he was 3.  I am now pregnant again and waiting for my b-strep test results - will probably have IV anyway during birth.  I haven't been able to find an anwer to the link between autism and b-strep infection but have often wondered about it.
