allergic reactions can occur at anytime, sudden shellfish allergy, a health care worker developing a latex allergy...etc...you can research common metals in the ink colors you have in your tattoo and ask the artist what type of ink they were using at the time of your tattoo if you think it would help you out to know. Usually an allergy ends up being a slightly annoying itchiness with some swelling bu can also be a cavitating sore or even a thick scar tissue or granulomas.
