What is the Bandwidth of Ethernet.compare it with Ring network

Different type of ethernet port have different banwidth capacity.It can occupy 10/100 Mb & 10GMb Bandwidth.But ur path & transmission media should be capable for higher capacity.It can be use for point to point connectivity.But in ring two paths are necessary.Protection are different In Ethernet we use 1+1 & in ring we use SNCP protection.

1 to 1000 mbps

in ring network, data travels in only one direction and they can span larger distances in comparision to ethernet. Also it avoids collision
