Do Italian greyhounds need any special treatment that you do not have to give to other dogs?

Yes, they sometimes do. IGs are very fragile, they break bones quite easily. I personally recommend getting pet insurance with an IG. They run and don't give you the time of day when you call them. They pretend they didn't hear you... IGs are prone to epilepsy, PRA, teeth problems, broken bones (even tails), and cancer. But they're lovely dogs, and cuddlebugs. It just takes a certain person to be a good owner to them. Don't ever expect them to be completely house-trained. Hope that helps

They require LOTS of love and attention. Don't expect to sit down anywhere around them without them jumping up on your lap. They also are slow to accept outsiders.
