There is really no such thing as a miniature bulldog. There are American Bulldogs which are large(about 60-90lbs) and there are English bulldogs(about 20-40lbs) As with  any dog breed there can be runts or smaller versions but they are not miniature.

There are some US breeders. You can find their websites by searching for "miniature bulldogs" on Google. They definitely do exist.

Well, I own and breed Miniature bulldogs. I can tell you they do exist because they were created by breeding together Pugs, Frenchies and English bulldogs. Every breed that is in existence right now did not exist at one point. Humans have carefully bred certain breeds to other breeds for certain characteristics. That's what we've done, made a smaller English. It's not that big a deal. I used to breed Americans about 15 years ago and people used to say that wasn't a breed. You're just ignorant, but you'll catch on eventually, don't be so scared of new things. P.S. I don't know if Katie has ever seen or weighed a Standard English but they are 45-65 pds usually. And I've had Americans as big as Female-100 Male-130. So check out www.minnesotabulldogs.com

My understanding is that the miniature bulldog is a new breed of dog established in the early 1980's. The mix between a pug and english bulldog is not considered a "true minature english bulldog" but a hybrid. There is a great website that has the history and additional information on the mini english bulldog, search for Protective Companion website.

The above mentioned answers are incorrect and not based on a knowledge or fact to put it very nicely. They also are very docile and do not turn on their owners or other pets. Miniature bulldogs were removed from England many years ago to protect the larger English bulldog bloodlines. It is also thought the French Bulldog had come from these bulldogs with much smaller physical characteristics. This breed has been non-existent since the turn of the century and more recently re-created in the 1980's. Miniature Bulldogs are great dogs with better with better health, temperament and physical characteristics. The main thing to beware of are hybrid attempts to mock this breed thus  making sure your candidate is IKC registered.

Minature bulldogs are a recent development and their breeding is being tracked by the IKC. There are a couple of breeders in Arkansas that  claim that the minatures will only get to be 30/40 lbs.

Correction...There are Miniature Bulldogs that are AKC registered as minibulldogs.  American are larger, but English are still about 50lbs at the age of 8 months (and that's a female, so please do your research and know what your talking about before you post a false reply.

From what I understand there really are minature English Bulldogs.  It is because of DNA...They make fine pets but because of their size many people find them to be more desirable.

i just purchased one, basically it is referred to as a 'toy' or 'minature' bulldog, the french bulldog and the pug have been bred into it to make it smaller, but after years of breeding any signs of the pug or french bulldog are non existent. So it basically looks like a stocky normal bulldog but smaller, and on a second note much healthier as well, as many of the heatlh problems associated with normal brits are not evident in the minature version

Supposedly they're crossing bulldogs and pugs to get a smaller english bulldog. Search bullpugs, pug-a-bulls, or even puggles.

The minature english bulldog will have early training along with photos of its progress. Toy variation of the breed was developed in 1980?s and became very popular. It possesses the same appearance, character and disposition as full sized breeds, such as courage, strength, protectiveness, devotion to the master and the whole family, loyalty and peacefulness. Adult dogs are not very active and prefer to live indoors. These dogs are of gentlest temperament with the master and are at the same time very brave as guardians. This breed tends to dominate and display strong leadership, so it requires socializing at early age. The minature english bulldog will have early training along with photos of its progress.
