I am looking to get a siberian husky, but want to know which sex would be ideal around a 7 month old and a four year old.

I would suggest the female. Both the genders love kids but the males tend to be more hyper. I have had two male huskies and they are as different as night and day. One used to jump up and was very dominant but the one I have now is very submissive and has never hurt anyone. My female is the one I trust the most though. I take my baby sister out to see her. Just make sure the dog is supervised around the baby. This is a good choice for kids because they are very tolerant dogs and will tolerate quite a bit of tugging and harrasing.

I breed huskies that FEMALES can be a little too protective and can get snappy in heat. Males are much calmer!!!!!!!!!

i have a male and he is the sweetest calmest dog i have ever owned.he is well trained and that is very important with any husky. the better their obediance training the better the dog will be socially.

I have both a male and a female sib husky. I also have a 2 year old little girl and i have to say both of my dogs are so tender and loving when it comes to being around her. They are real gentle when they give her kisses and they dont jump on her. On the other hand they will jump all over us adults. I think you will be fine either way you go just get one as a pup and their instinct will show threw they are a wonderful pet
