I have a 6 week old half chihuahua half wire haired male puppy. When looking for information on my puppy I was wondering if I should look for chihuahua or wire haired? My puppy has many characteristics of both breeds. I am concerned because he does not like to drink water and is very timid when I try getting him to eat. I just want to make sure he's getting enough of both.

I would get books on both. If by wire-haired you mean terrier, then my recommendation is the book Chihuahuas for Dummies. Chihuahuas are described as having a terrier like attitude. Having had terriers in the past and chihuahuas now, I agree completely. Your vet can assure you that he is getting proper nutrition, remember that a smaller dog has a smaller tummy, so won't necessarily eat a lot at at time, so they need to be fed more often. I keep dry kibble out all the time, both my girls self-regulate and seem to eat 2-3 times a day.

i, also, have 2 of the same mix of puppies! and they are 6wks old. i've been trying to find more info about the mix, too. i found that both breeds are a lot alike which is good i guess.

i have a question. I have a chihuahua terrier mix that is about 15 weeks old now. He is VERY agrressive and i don't know how to stop it. He tries to playfully bite but it isn't really gentle. i want to break this bad habit before it's too late. Also, he still isn't potty trained and i am really giving up on him. It is gross cleaning up dog mess all the time. so if you could please, please give me some advice , that would be great!!!!
