We have had this happen a couple of times. When we have brought new kittens into the house, they invariably find places to hide (behind the furnace, behind the water softener, etc.) that we don't even think they can get to in the first place.  My daughter just brought home a new kitty and now it is hiding behind the cupboard in her apartment.  She thought she had kitty proofed the apartment, but didn't realize that there was a hole underneath the kitchen cabinet that the kitty found.  Now it won't come out.  How do you get kittens out of hiding spaces???
