I am what you would consider a "red head".  I have fair skin and burn easily.  I just had permanent cosmetics done approximately 3 weeks ago: brows, eyeliner, and lips.  It doesn't seem to be holding the color, especially the lips.  I've had one touch up done already, and the lips peeled and disapeared again.  I just heard that red heads are not good candidates for tatooing.  Is this true?  AND in consideration of the money I've invested in this procedure, what should I do about the color problem????  HELP!!

I'm the same hair/skin type and I have the same problem. My whole left arm is a black tribal, The only problem though it's more of a greyish/blueish black. I've had it inked a few times. I also my skin is pretty thick, as could yours be, which I believe is the problem

I've had no problem with my tattoo, and I've had it now for half a year. In fact, mine actually healed quicker and much easier than most people I know. I burn easily and I have red hair, although I do keep it covered up most of the time, so that could be the problem. Tattoos don't like sunlight, although it shouldn't get messed up in that short a time...

Could be a different problem with your skin.

No it is not true, usually people with fair skin hold color better compared to someone with a dark tan i.e. your color should have been brighter. I know that permanent tattooing of the lips will not stay forever and suggest that if the color is already gone go somewhere else.

I am a red head..My skin is very sensitive to sun..I have frekles..frekles are a reaction caused by the sun..
if your tattoos on your arms fade easily..wear sleeves in the sun and short sleeve in the dark. Moonlight is good. Sun creates Vitamin D on your skin..redness..so be a vamp ..or wear lots of sunscreen or longsleeves in the sun.

You won't need special makeup.  I have very blonde hair and i am very pale.  Both of my tattoos are colored perfectly still I doubt any of that have anything to do with your hair color.  Keep out of the sun like everyone else has said and it should be fine.

I am also a red head and I have lots of skin problems, my tattooing is great but my skin reacts to different things,, maybe the ink is the problem with your facial tattooing. Although some tattooing don't last long.Specially in the lips as your lips constantly peel and you get new skin.

if you dont easily attract the sun i have a good tip for anyone that wants to attract the sun ALL YOU NEED IS: a bottle of baby oil, strong brewed teabag water, and 4 table spoons of coffee THEN mix it all together in a spray bottle and SHAKE when the sun comes out simply spray onto the skin and rub in then VOILA! home made tan spray with an incredible result WARNING does not have a uvf factor therefore does not protect your skin from the suns harmful rays (smells a bit strange)

Each person who gets permanent makeup applied has their own unique experience because of their skin type, but just because you have red hair, does not mean you can not hold the color.
When getting pigments on the face, the skin is delicate and special equipment must be used that is gentler. The pigment is implanted only 2 skin layers deep, so it really doesn't last forever on most people.(this depends a lot on age) It is normal to require a touch up and to lose most or even all of your color on the lips. If you really want the lips done, you will need to keep having the touch ups applied until it stays like you want. Sorry but that is the way it is. I do not think it was the technique or the technician, so going somewhere else will not help.
Most every procedure requires at least one touch up.

Ok, I know that im only 17, but I am a natural redhead, I have VERY fair skin, plus I also have freckles ( all over). I do have trouble with sunburn, and I have trouble with very noticable redmarks. But I wouldnt change my skin color to fit in with the "TAN" people. I love my hair and my fair skin. I have always been told I have pretty hair and beautiful skin. Dont change your natural beauty beacuse you want to fit in. Being Redheaded makes us diffrent. Its a very nice change from the blonds and the brunettes. We have power over the double B"s. We are beautiful and diffrent. Love who you are. Dont change yourself!!   PS> My tattoo held very well. Very cool!
