I m giving my female dog 3 medicaments of Levothyrox each morning and each night. It works well but she is always a bit fat, but it depends on if your dog has a overaction of the thyroid or if it doesnt work enough.

Is he back on his thyroid medication?  Hypothyroidism often causes sores, rashes
and hairloss.  He may need an antibiotic for any secondary infections, but usually
thyroid medication will do the trick. Hope this helps.

My eight year old Golden recently was spayed, due to an infection, and it has been over a month and a half now since the surgery, but now she has hair loss issue, where her undercoat is visible in some places (such as around the neck) and her overall fur is just thinning.

Could this be due to hormones (she never had this problem before the surgery and it started quite a bit after), or will she start needing thyroid medication?

Also, how much would thyroid medicine cost for about a month's supply?
