are you stupid?  trying to stretch from 14 to 2?  seriously people.  you need to leaern the proper way to stretch your lobes.  this is just....disgracefull.
ok #1.  NEVER< NEVER NEVER skip gauges.  unless you want a blowout and screwup your lobes.
#2 use tapers until you reach around 0 or 00
then if u cant find tapers, get a roll of electrical tape, and slowly add layers of tape around your plugs. eventually you will be able to put in the next gauge.
#3 wait at least a few months between stretches, this makes it muct easier, and safer to stretch.
#4.  dont be stupid, think of what you are doing.  if you think u will one day want "normal" earlobes again, realize that after a certian point ...around 00, you will have a hard time getting them to shrink back down to their original size.
geese, all you MALLRATS ewant to streth the lobes...at least learn how to do it

CBR's(Captive Ball Rings) are a decent way to stretch your lobes.  but get unpractical when you get to larger gauges.  for early stretches the loops are good because they have a tiny bit of a taper at their ends.  but when you get to larger gauges i.e 00, 000, 1/2 inch you should stick to the tape method i mentioned earlier.  Another good idea is go to a local craft store,,,and buy clay.  if you cant get ahold of Big tapers, use the clay to make a taper, cook it in the oven ..and wallaa you have a home made taper.
Ive got 1/2 lobes, Ive tried numerous techniques for stretching, and my advice is to use tapers and tape.

unless you got your ears scalpled i doubt it's doing anything good for your lobes. i'vebeen streching my ears and they're finally at 3/4' (of an inch)- but it has taken me a long time. streching of the ears is meant to be done slowly.. in a lot of tribes it is considered a way of showing patience. letting your body heal before you continually strech is always better. dont rush anything or you risk permanent damage to your ears. make shure you know what you're doing could be like that forever.

usually 4g-2g is the size of a pen cap.
but i very strongly dont recommend using plastic or arcylic for anything (unless fully healed). plastic attracts bacteria like nothing else. you could clean it everyday and it would still carry so much bacteria... and risk infection.. which means you would have to de-gauge your ears and start all over again.

i advise you ALL to check out www.bmezine.com for VERY informative and helpful information.

Be careful when using tapers though.  I was going from a 2 to 0 ga using a steel taper.  It was a bit hard to push through so I just rammed it with all of my might and it went through very fast and punctured my neck.  Luckily my neck stopped bleeding after a few hours, but there's still a scar.

its probably not the best idea to stretch in less u either want a blowout or keliods (keliods r permentit scares that grow large) i think it is best to either get a taper or slowly move up gauges

I just wanted to add something about stretching.  For some reason, here in America all piercing jewelry is sized by gauge.  The problem is, the difference in size keeps increasing the larger you go.  For instance, going from 8 ga. to 6 ga. is only about 0.9 mm difference, but going from 2 ga. to 0 ga. is about a 1.7 mm difference.  While the tape method probably works, I found it easier to purchase jewelry in millimeters from online sites based in the UK.  This way you could increase your piercing 1 mm at a time.  Of course, it's a more expensive method, but probably safer and less damaging to the piercing.  Thanks!

I'm at a 0 now, and I have a 00 taper that fits in fine but i lost it. now i have 9/16ths bought and i wanna get them in, i am using Teflon tape, from the plumbing store. i use lube to get it in and it's hard to get them out. weight is the best way. it's most natural. the body heals as it goes. I know a lot of people continuously pull their ears. i have to lately. when your watching TV, just tug and pull them. USE LOTS OF LUBE WHEN YOU STRETCH WITH TAPERS! and soak them (your ears) in hot/warm water beforehand, it loosens them up...

i know this is prolly the latest response on the site but i stretched my ears from an 12 to an 8g which is a pretty big jump for someone as sissy as me. plus, my rents hate my newly stretched ears which makes me wanna stretch it more and more , BAHAHAHAAHAH- i don;t think i will go any bigger because i kind like the eight guage, at first, it hurts to try to move the ring around but my ears healed pretty quick and im now ok...also: i got my nipple peirced sometime in october! its an absolutely gorgeous peircing!

Jason is right.  Do not use a straw or nails or  anything unsanitary.  I have two 5/8 gauges now & I learned my lesson by trying to go from a 14 gauge to a 6 gauge with nails.  It worked until I went to take them out.  I tore my ear & it was a bloody mess.  I recommend using tapers.  Go to bodyartforms.com, bodysparkle.com, or anotherhole.com. They are really cheap & it won't cause infection. Oh, & yeah, DO NOT SKIP GAUGES!!!  That's another huge mistake.  You won't want to keep the gauges in if you stretch them too fast.  The longer you keep the gauges in the less it will hurt to go up a size.

I thought it looked cool. At the time my ears where only g16.my sister started to just gradually put in bigger gauges at a time  right now i am at 8g,some advise people..... the best way to stretch out your ears is to  just keep stretching out your ears with bigger jewelry at a time.

I went from normal piercing all the way to 8 usen hoops and had no problems I also waited atleast 2 weeks between each piercing and from 8-00 I used tapers. Only stupid thing I did was stretched 12-10 usen plugs hurt like hell but its all I had at the time and I lost my 6s and only had 10s to put in so when I finally went to 4s I went from 10-4usen a taper it hurt but not as much because they had already been stretched.

I'm at 14mm (14 millimetres not 14 guage) and i wanna stretch bigger too.
The clay expander idea sounds good. But does the clay let the ear breathe?
My lobes get gooey with the plastic ones.
I'm currently hanging about ten keys from my buffalo horn tunnel but i don't think thats a good way to do it.
Has anyone here gotten bigger using weight like me?

I went from a 6 gauge to a 4 gauge, but without using a taper. It was impossible to fit the tunnel in without ripping my ear.. so what worked was taking some electrical tape and wrapping it around the end of the tunnel but make the tape so that it tapers. MAKE SURE TO STERILIZE THE TAPE!! then just pull it through. It works well. Happy stretching.

But if you are like me and have to have it now.... here is what i did... now im not trying to go against diong it the proper way but my girlfriend bought me 14 gauges and i just had normal holes from when i first got them peirced i took the pin inside of a metal watch band once i worked that through i put my 14's in this might not work for everybody but it did for me... i took like 2 hrs to do both ears. it would be smarter to go up gradually but if you cant wait then you can try my way..

It doesnt matter how big you go within a week or two. Go at your own pace-use your own judgement. Everybody's ears are different and usually one ear is less bound to infection than the other. I jumped from standard size to 8 then to a two and they were perfectly fine. Of course you could get a blow out. But you could just scrape it out, and when it gets infected, dont take it out to let it heal. It will heal faster if you leave it as big as it is or one size down(unless its swollen over the earring) << but like i said everyones ears are different

So if you really do care about how your ear lobes will be in the future, don't do it.

Good luck

I skipped sizes ( regular earing size to 14-I kept for about a year, 8 - shoved a taper through in like 5 minutes each ear, then to a 6- which I had in for less then a day,4 for a couple days, and I used the part of a gel pen that holds the ink in, with o rings as my size '3' gadge. Because I couldnt get my 2's in. Taper to 0, 00 for a couple weeks. then to 7/16 for not even a day taped. to 1/2** So I did a couple things wrong. But then again. I worked at Hot topic for over a year and a half. So I had access to the body jewelry. ( with discount of course... b.c without that. I prolly would have been using more stupid house hold things then I did.) But yeah my lobes are perfectly fine.. no blow outs nothing. and i take them out sometimes. and the close pretty fast... And I'm at 1/2 inch.

To gauge your ears from a 14 straight to a 2 will not work and hurt worse then you can think of. Try going to bodypunks.com and look for streches. these look like a hook and can be pushed threw your ear slowly. Be sure you do this slowly the skin on your ear lobes is exreamly flexible and if you do this to fast it can rip. If your ear does rip you have no idea how painfull this will be. whene you do go up in gauges the earing will feel very tight and may sting to twist. Despite the pain try to clean it just as you did whene you first pierced it. In a few weeks you can move up a size again. This is a simple procese but you must think of the long term plans for college and a job in the futre. this may change some oppertunities you've never seen a doctor with a 2G now have you? Be safe and have some fun with your ears!

i was stretching my ears from a 0 to a 00  and my right ear did fine, practicly slipped right in. then i tried for my left ear which didnt want to stretch so i tried forcing it a little then gave up and went for using a taper. i had the taper in for about a day and went to take it out finding that i had ripped my ear (it didnt even feel like i had). my right ear had always stretched easier and i dont know if this is the reason...  the original pierceing in my right ear is more centered than the one in my left ear, so the hole in my left ear is lower than the right.  i was wondering if it would be smart for me to see if it will close up then repierce is it in the center then re-stretch or if this would be just a pain in ass. let my the rip heal and try to stretch to a 00 again.  any one have any input?

Alright, people. It's a good idea to use  tapers, going from 14 ga. to 2 ga....is that some kind of joke?! If you're starting out when you use the tapers, use a water-based lubricant like KY jelly to help it slide through. When you stretch your lobes, it should NEVER bleed. never ever. Definatley wait between stretches; it'll help all the more. Obviously if you're in a rush you don't care too much about your ears at all. SO, be patient and be safe.

you guys, I beg of you, DO NOT go from like... an 18 gauge straight to a 2 gauge!! it is not a good thing to do. It hurts, and you'll damage your ears. What you should do is, say if your an 18 gauge, get the next size down, so you would get a 16 gauge. a normal size earring is usually a 20 gauge, occasionally it will be an 18 gauge. So, again, you would just go ONE size down, and about every 2-6 weeks, you can get the next size down.

Skipping sizes when stretching your ears is the worst idea, especially when going from a 14 to a 2. Normally, stretching your ears using tapers should take at least 6-10 months. (assuming you stretched your ears once a month/once every other month.) Those of you who haven't had problems when you've skipped sizes are very fortunate you haven't suffered a blowout, and if you havent had a blowout I can guarentee that your ear lobes are torn or scarred. Don't you know that scar tissue makes it harder to stretch your ears? I know I don't want my lobes looking like a cats asshole. If your ears bleed when you stretch them you should go down a couple of sizes and treat your ear as if it were freshly pierced.  I have been stretching my ears for two years now and I am at 3/4". This is as far as I plan on going, and because I took the time to actually stretch my ears properly my lobes are healthy and nice looking. Few people wil take advice from a 17 year old kid, but i have been stretching my ears for a while and I have suffered from no problems at all. For more information visit http://onetribe.nu/catalog/stretching.php

The answer to your question Vera is roughly a size 10 gauge.

I got both of my ears pierced at 4 gauge, and they didn't hurt at all. So if your ears hurt when you're stretching them you're doing it too quickly.

If you can't find tapers, you can use spirals, the only problem is they get super huge looking after 0g but they'll work.  Another ? what gauge is the cap if you might want your ears to
shrink back to normal someday, I've heard it's 0 but i want to go bigger!

yeah you shouldn't skip gauges like that it can rip your ears and cause keloids.Just use tapers and wait till the swelling goes down and the earrings are easily turned. And if you are so impatient that you can't wait maybe you should rethink why your gauging/stretching.

It deosnt matter about anything . I was told by a professional piercer that i could skip a couple of gauges here and there and it would be fine, and as for inbetween stretches, thats totally up to your body. I went in every 2 weeks and had my ears stretched upp properly with tapers, and theyre perfect. It dpeends on your body, so you should just listen to it. I agree that you should check out bme for more information on this whole subject. I've never had a blow out, so if you skip a gauge it wont neccesarily give you a blowout, its just a bigger stretch

tapers for a 00 gauge shouldn't be that hard to find. i used tapers all the way up to 1 inch. it's after and inch that they get hard to find. weights are a good way to stretch too.  once you get past 00 try getting some flesh tunnels and hanging pad locks from your ears for about 3 hours every other day. it hurts, but it's effecive.

its fine if you try and stretch them yourself.. just make sure it's clean an it's not dirty.
make sure that you don't skip too many sizes, and don't use toothpicks.. it stings a lot (from the wood) when putting them in and out.
it hurts.. trust me.
(toothpicks are a 16g)

go to hot topic. stuff there is generally cheap. for gauges and such. when you are in the smaller sizes like 12,10,8 you can do them a week at a time. it will take about a 3 weeks to get a 8. after that I recommend that you wait three weeks apart and don't use plastic as said before, and always use a taper

I went from regular earring size to a 4, but it was a healthy stretch [if such a thing exists] : meaning it did not bleed, no blowouts, healed normal, etc. From there I haven't skipped. People think since its easy to skip with smaller sized guages [which it is], that they can do it with bigger ones. I advise you not to, unless you're flat out stupid. Pen lids and such are a stupid way of gauging. If you insist on using any household item for gauging, marker lids work best. Im not encouraging you, but I figured I'd help if you plan on being stupid. At least it would be smarter than pen lids. And if you do use them, sterilize them please. You can't be that stupid can you? And taper-wise. Do not use candlesticks. If you do, your an idiot.

Alright, Your all idiots seriously, I have 0 Guages in my ears...right now and I successfully got to two guage within 3 months...Mind you, my ears are extremly stong and are really hard to rip. I got my 0 guage in about 4 hours ago...from my 2...and it took 4 seconds....The trick to stretching your ears is Play with your holes alot....I went from a 16 to a 12 to a 8 to a 4 then 2 and 0... The more you play with your ears, the more they will stretch without putting a bigger stretcher in. Now, if you have the right size plug that will not go in, your two best friends are a warm shower and vaseline. The warm shower will make your ears more elasticy and your vaseline lets it slide in. Dont be stupid...Do not do what I did...I wanted to do it fast and inexpensive...so in total i bought 2 plugs...a 0 and a 2... I used house hold objects to stretch...I started with A spike i found from a geometry set. and wrapped it in tape alot...then I used wood ( bad idea, wood splinters in the shower ) paintbrushes and straws...all of which were sanitized....but the main thing im telling you, is if you want to stretch your ears FAST....play with them...At all times...at school, infront of the tv...the only time my hands werent on my ears...was when i was sleeping....Also...Keep your hands clean if your going to play with them...and dont play with them...for 2 days after a stretch...I find taking them out and pud pulling your ear helps to.

Anyone who skips gauges is a bloody idiot! Ever heard of EBAY? I bought an entire set of tapers and barbells of each gauge size 18g-00g.(the barbells to hold the stretch from the taper... duh) and I got it all for under 100 aussie dollars (inc P&H).
I was then, over a period of about 3-4 months able to get my lobe to 00g without any pain, tearing, or blowouts.
I'd urge anyone seriously considering it to do alot of research on it and most of all listen to your body... When STRETCHING (not tearing) you're earlobes if it hurts, there's blood or any other contraindication. Just Stop...
Stretching any piercing can look great but if you look about on the net you can find many pictures of what happens when idiots decide to skip gauges...

Also, like everyone else said don't skip gauges and wait till your ear heals or you will go through about three weeks of hell.. trust me, I learned from experience. I'd change my gauge every 3 days until I got up to a 2 and then it hurt like a b****.

so you guys are all stupid...this is how you do  it -

take a nail, put it in the fire and heat it till it's glowing amber red.  Then CAUTIOUSLY take tongs to handle the heated nail. You must have someone there to help you.  Then find a hammer and gently tap the nail into the earlobe. It's normal to exp. pain, so take an advil before.  Yer done at at a size 6 from the start.

ok i was wondering if it hurts to start stretching your ears? i tried it once but i did it the wrong way! i but in regular earings then put in another earing! so there was two(2) earings in on whole! it hurt really bad and they were red and itchy for about a day or so. i asked my mom about getting them done and she said i could as long as i keep them clean and they dont get infected!

people tell me to put in some heavy earings before, for like a week and then it should stretch then out, then to put in a bigger gauge! im not shure if its a good idea!

i have 1 other question! can your ears tear at a small gauge? what exactly causes them to tear?

Hi guys, I have a question. When I got my ears pierced they guy that pierced them said they were a 14g.  After just about 4 weeks they were totally healed up and felt fine. I'd wanted to gauge them so I got a friend to give me a 12g ring. I just put lotion on it and slid it in slowly. I'm going to wait about 2 weeks or until I feel my ears are healed to do the next one. Is that okay to just slowly slide the next size in or do I HAVE to have a taper?

Okay.
First off you can skip sizes.
As long as you use tappers and NOT jam 'em in
If you let your ears streach slowly
You wont have blowouts and NO PAIN
If it hurts dont force it.
NEVER FORCE GAUGES INTO YOUR EARS.
I have 7/16's and it took me about 3 monthes or so to get this far but at least i know if i get sick of them i can take them out without my ears looking nasty and no shrinking back.  if you have any questions...

i've had my ears pierced for just over a year and had planned the whole time to stretch my lobes. i'm not a big fan of huge holes (1 1/2 and up) but i still like it. why DO we like it, anyways? oh well.
i went (unintentionally) from a regular 16g to 8g from a pair of earrings i bought from claire's.  it was a straight post that attatched to a thicker acryllic semi-circle. one day i put the back of the earring in too tight and it ended up getting me to an 8g. when i realized what had happened, i went out and bought real 8g plugs and was happy. after a few months i picked up a pack of 4 6g plugs from hot topic (2 straight plugs with grooves for the o-ring, 2 tapered plugs, all acryllic) that i used immidiately after i bought them (went to the bathroom in the JCpenny's across the mall) and stretched. after the first stretch, i was hooked.
i am now at a half inch and dont suggest skipping gauges WHATSOEVER and highly reccommend waiting at LEAST a month and a half to two months between stretching.
RESEARCH THESE THINGS BEFORE YOU ACT UPON IMPULSE!!
also, if you're under 2g, you shouldn't have any problem closing your ears up if you decide that it's not for you anymore. it's possible to shrink your ears once the holes are bigger, but it all depends on your body.

Pens are a 0g...and jumping gauges is not that dangerous when if its reasonable.  I wouldn't recommend going from a 14 to a 2 but whatever floats your boat.  I recommend going and buying the size plugs you want to be at for awhile and going to a piercing parlor and they will taper them professionally.  They use the proper lobe and they will most defiantly tell you if your jumping too quick.  They charged me $5 to go from a 8 to a 2, I'm at a 2 inch now and have had no problems.  Most should not be over that or they may do it for free.

Okay, first of all these people are right. I'm super surprised you guys got that big of a size  in on a 14g hole. I kept burrowing my gauges from others and using house hold items. Brush applicators for makeup work really well for like 6g and 4g and such. Right now I'm at a 1/2inch and it's super hard to find the next size with is 9/16. NEVER I repeat NEVER use any HEAVY objects for your ears, including metal spikes that you can buy, they weigh down your lobe and you end up having your gauge set in weird. Trust me on that. NEVER skips sizes. Unless it's not much of a bigger gauge. Sometimes you can, such as going from a 14g to a 10g, it's not that big of a jump. But seriously, your best bet is to just go in order. No one here wants to rip their lobes.

Waht i did (probably not that sanitary or proffesional, but who wants to spend 40 bucks on getting them tapered professional and jewlery, right!?) is take lets say, a pen is about a 0 gauge. I cut a bit off a pen and disinfected it, and put some lube on it and put it in my ear to check for sizing.

I took some electrical tape, wrapped it around it till it was about half way between a 0 and a 00, so it hurt a bit but it was easy to slip in. disinfect it again, lube up. wait till you can spin it and it doesnt hurt, and slide the 00 in.

To stretch bigger i just used randoms, like makeup lids, marker lids, ect.

Right now i have a chapstcik lid in one ear, and a thick straw with tape around it in the other, which got infected because i decided not to disinfect it.

Dumb idea, but its all right.

If it gets infected just wash it out with some light antibacterial soap, but dont take the jewlery out and let your ear close, because the puss will have no where to drain and then youll be in trouble.

Warm water or some antiseptec usually works swell, and if your ear it still really uncomfortable just silde in smaller jewlery and wait for the infection to go away, and try it agaim.

hope all works for you!

Also, someone mentioned that at about 00 you have a hard time shrinking them and getting them back to normal ,and thats not true at all.

This person talked about gauging corectly but must have forgotten there is such a thing as "down gauging"

its just the opposite of up-gauging. You just pit a smaller gauge in and wait for it to heal and do it again.

usually it will shrink down nicely and your ear will look relitively normal, but who can even define a "normal" ear these days, seeing as how everyone is different.

Either way, once you hit about an inch and start down gauging, it might leave a little slit in your ears and not go totally back to normal, but its not that noticable, and nothing that some hair wont hide!

Perhaps you haven't realized that stretching your ears is just as significant as any other body mod. Do it with care and after a good amount of research, because you will feel both the physical pain and have the trauma scars for years afterward if you don't.

Im currently at 7/8", and i love the size im at. Just do what feels right, and listen to the people that think they know what they are talking about on here, it really helps, tapers and tape definitely. after  certain point, around 000, start using tapers instead of CBR's it is a lot easier to stretch that way. Happy stretching.

it really isn't that hard to be smart about this come on.

I started myself off at a 16g and now i'm at 5/8 inch. and my ears didn't bleed once.

And for all of you people who say use tapers. YOU'RE AN IDIOT tapers should not be used unless desperately needed, you should get a pair of plugs w/ a flare on one or both ends of them and when you can slip the plug in and out with the flare on it then you should be able to go to the next size without feeling any pain whatsoever. DON'T USE TAPERS your ears wont heal back.

i pierced my ears with a 10g and it won't stop bleeding for about 2 weeks. after it was healed i went from 8g to 2g in about a month and i guess i was lucky because there weren't any evidence to suggest any infections. it took me about 3 weeks to go from 8g to 4g and from 4g to 2g. but after that i'veexperienced difficulties going from 2g to 0g by using pincers and tapers. i was told the best way to stretch is to use spirals because u can graduately push the plug in. anyone got any other suggestions besides using tape, tapers, and pinchers?

i went from a regular gun size (like 18) to a 10 in a day, but after you reach that its much harder to stretch you ear. You should give your ear at least 4 weeks to heal its tears inside itself between sizes, def use a taper, your ear will eventually let is go thru

skipping a gauge size is not the best way to go cause you're risking on having a blow out which are not fun.

Also going from a 16 to a 2 then a 0 in 2 weeks tops is bad for you ears cause your ears need time to heal(about(2-3 weeks). If you dont wait for them to heal then your gonna end up with permanant damage like scaring which will make your a lot more difficult at stretchig then it needs to be.

And using a pen cap is not the best way. Tapers are always the best way to go.

When I started to stretch my ears, i went from an 18g and used a bone spiral that ended at an 8g. it worked quite well, and was almost painless. I used pinchers (shaped in a U almost) until about a 0g, because they were getting tougher and tougher to get through. I used a taper for my 00g, and then when I was ready to stretch up, i couldn't find any stretchers bigger than a 00g, i could only find plugs. A friend of mine told me that the easiest and cheapest way to do it is to use electrical tape and lube. so i pulled out my 00g's, and put 2 layers of electrical tape on it and some lube, and pushed it through. it worked and i did that for four or five days until i got up to the size i needed. Which was a 3/8 and i purchased some sweet plugs. they look really good :D

i hope this helped you out!

Half of you people don't even know what you are doing. You only care about getting your ears gauged as soon as possible without even considering the disastrous consequences.

Sure, your friend may have done it and had no problem, so you do and do the same? It is utterly stupid to even think that everyone's body works in the same way, yet alone heals the same.

I am at a 1/2 and it took me three years to do it. I did it properly, never had an infection, keloid, blow out, or bleeding.

If you have any of the above, you are doing something wrong.

Half of you can't even spell, yet alone stretch your ears.

What kind of people is this world holding?

i started gauging my ears with the A string off of a bass guitar. the next thing i used was an espresso straw. no real problems yet. the next thing i used was a wooden dowel from a hardware store. it worked well to gauge it but then i had alot of trouble with it sticking. i could turn the earing (with my ear lobe firmly attached) at least 90 degrees around. very gross. after that i switched to some christmas lights and these worked very well, they were tapered so it was easy to gauge and they were glass so they spun easily and did not harbour any bacteria nasties. next i used another wooden dowel that i had filed to a point to gauge up to 2 gauge, but after i had them gauged i immediatley went and bought some 2 gauge metal studs because i did not want to deal with the stickage. i went from no piercings at all to 2 gauge in a bout five weeks. total cost, free until the end when i had to buy the 2 gauges im wearing now. not to much pain or discomfort and my ears are healing up very nicely.

It is not healthy to go from a 12 to a 6 to a 0 in less than a week. By doing that you are seriously risking the health of your ears. Stretching should be done slowly. I usually wait at least a month between gauges to let it heal completely. Even then there should probably be a waiting period before you go to the next gauge to give your ears a "rest". Also I suggest before stretching that you take a hot shower...this makes your skin more elastic thus making it easier when putting in a taper. There is also less discomfort. When going to larger sizes I would use tape when you have trouble getting a taper...i did this going from a 0 to a 00 and it worked really well. But when using tape, put the layers on slowly...Sure, it will take time, but overall your ears will be healthier than if you just shove the plug in...Doing this it is not unlikely that you will get a blowout or tear your ear(this causes a certain kind of scar tissue that will make the ear harder to stretch further, blowouts will do the same and are permanent pretty much). Keep in mind that if you want your ears to size down completely in the future then a 2g is probably as far as you can go...But it does depend on your ears.

I had my left ear pierced at 18g.  I pierced my right with a safety pin and gauged them both up to 0g in less than a week.  It hurt and I'm sure it wasn't good for me, but I had limited time considering the fact that I'm in the military.  I use tapers and you really should wait until your ears heal until you jump a size.  The process will be a lot easier and less painful if you do it the right way.

I'm from England, so I don't get the gauges, but I went from 1.6mm to 12mm in just under a month. It hurt like hell, and I've been told that I won't be able to stretch to my desired size (20mm) because I've damaged the skin of my lobes.
Be smart kids, do it properly. One gauge at a time, leave at least a month between stretches. More if you're a slow healer.

some of you really need to figure out what you are doing, that is such a bad idea going from a 14g or 16g to a 2g. please check out this page, along with whatever else you can find, before you continue stretching your ears.

http://www.onetribe.nu/catalog/stretching.php

one size at a time with the right amount of time in between and you wont have any problems. i took a good 10 months to get to 1/2", and my ears heal fairly fast.

as far as what size your ears will still close back up at, 2g-00g is widely considered the point of no return depending on where you get your info, but i know of a guy with 5/8" whose ears closed up. its pretty insane. its somewhat believable because when i take my plugs out they go down to the size of a 4g right away before they actually begin to shrink.

the best way to stretch in my eyes, is to start off with spikes then move to plugs. Im at 22 mill either ear. And have already had one blowout from impatient strectching. the guys got it right, you gotta slow it down otherwise you'll mess up your lobes big time

okay, so my friend sara went from  a size 20G, to a size eight. and she said it hurt like hell, there was blood and cust everywhere. I don't recommend skipping that many gauges, do it manually unless its being done by a professional.

See, I started at a 8ga, Then I skipped 6, went to 4 within a month. Then i skipped 2 and went to 0 in like 2 weeks. then i jumped to 00 in like a week, using a taper. then went to a 00ga plug the next day. then i started playing around with household items and now i am at a 9/16" or 14 mm. All within a span from February - May ... like 2-3 months and I went from 8ga - 9/16" (14mm) and my lobes are as healthy as they have ever been... lol =P

hahahahahahaha. Al of you have no clue what you are talking about. I stretched my ears to 3 inches and started with a needle, followed by a screwdriver, then a bigger screwdriver, then a 2g earing. That was the first time. haha then I went to a bic pen, and then a sharpie cap. and the story goes on with simple household items. They didnt get infected, you just cant be a dirty loser trying to stretch your ears. I took them out and my ears healed fine. I am just starting over and have 00 in again. hahahaha. Dumb people in this world...

Hi, i'm kinda new to this, does anyone haev any advice on how to stretch from a regular ear piercing (I guess that would be 20 gauge?), I was wondering about tapers, cos they were recommended to me. I would like to stretch my ear lobes to around a 6 or 8 gauge. Would like to know if anyone has any recommended methods? thanks

mkay, so i jut started stretching my ears.
basically, i take my taper thingy and stick it in some Vaseline, than just shove it through my ear. i started at and 8.. than went to a six. BUT it still bled like crazy. and i don't know why. i did it yesterday.. and its still bleeding and throbbing.. WHY?

i left the 8 gages in for like 3 weeks too.

is there like a less painful method? haha
