I think their ears are supposed to stand up. I had a breed that was supposed to have ears that stood up too. About two of the puppies had floppy ears but eventually they got straight. I think it's just a puppy thing. It may be the difference in breeds but you'll just have to wait since you can't force their ears stand up.

I grew up with a Corgi.  As puppies their ears do not stand up on their own.  When they get older and stronger then their ears will stand up straight.  Occassionally even as adults when they run or get excited though, the ears will flop.  I think it's an adorable trait and love looking back at puppy pictures with the floppy ears.

My puppy's ears stood up at 8 weeks.  These dogs are very smart they seem to put their ears up when it is convenient for them to.  Like when there is food around or something like that.  Give him/ her time the ears should go up.

Sometimes when pup matures into an adult the ears do not bind vertically at all.  To prevent something like this from happening or to cautious, tape can be applied to the back of the ears to hold them up.  Don't worry ...it is not unhumain to do this.

Typically their ears should be standing up by 8-10 weeks. Massaging the ears will increase blood flow to the cartlage tissue making it stronger allowing the ears to stand. This has worked for me. Good Luck!

If your puppy is teething his calcium is being deferred to that.  You may want to give him a supplemental calcium pill with his meal.  Check with your vet for the current dosage

A corgi's ears go up and down for the first 12 weeks. If they don't stand by then, you should tape them. Flop-eard corgis have no efrect on their hearing though.

We have a 2 yr old corgi and a new addition, he is 12 weeks old and he just got control over one. One stood up and the other didn't! But they still flop when he runs. Don't worry, your babies will stand up soon

Our corgi just had 3 pups on July 6th.  Two of them are gone now to their new homes and when they left they each had one ear up.  The first born we still have him and his ears are just as floppy as a rabbit :) I hope they stand up believes us :)

8 weeks ago my Corgi Bealle had a litter of 7 puppies. At 7 weeks 6 of them had their ears sticking up. One little guys ears haven't stood up yet but they will. So don't worry about your pup its ears will stick up I promise. The Corgi is truly the best dog ever.

i just got my corgi 2 weeks ago.  about 4 days after i got him his left ear stood up.  We were told to rub the other one to build strength and after 1 week of rubbing the other one now stands up too. so i would suggest rubbing he other ear about 3-5 times a day

The puppy will grow into his ears. Corgi's are a howl. They are bright and love their masters dearly. They do have an independent streak and need training and reminding who the boss is.

Hi,

I would like to ask a question.  I purchased two corgie's females now three months old. They are sitting for us, coming when we call them, and we have them on a pretty good schedule for potty training.  However, we do have accidents in the kitchen periodically after we have already taken them outside to do there business; an they do go. Is it that they are still too young to hold there stool ? Am I being to impatient ?
Thanks any advice is appreciated.      Robinlee

Our breeder, best of 2004, tapes the ears if they do not stand up by 8 weeks. As others said, yes they will go up and down depending on mood. it just takes time for the little guys to gain control of them :)
It is adorable when you get one up and one down...lol

We had the same issue when we got one of our Corgis a few years ago.  I think his ears were just so big they couldn't stay erect.  Our breeder help us "straighten" this situation out by using the following procedure.

Cut out construction paper to fit the size of the ear (inside of ear).  Place the construction paper on the inside of the ear, keeping the curvature of the ear, and us wide masking take to tape around each ear so they form the look you want.  To keep the ears erect, and in the standing position, you will need run masking across the top of your corgis head connecting the ears together so they stay up.

We left our dog taped up for a few weeks before taking the tape off.  His ears are perfect now and you would never know he had droopy ears unless you go back and look at his puppy pictures.

Do not worry, his ears WILL stand up soon. I worried too when my Corgi was a pup and in no time at all she had tall straight ears. There are occasions when one is up and one is down but that is just something they do (which makes all the more cuter)

Our corgi's ears did not both stand up until he was about 3 1/2 months old.  Before that just one ear would occasionally be up.  he is now 7 months and is just perfect!  I couldn't love him more.  Corgi's are fantastic
dogs!
