My Brother has a Dell Laptop with: X1 Rcom Cardbus Ethernet...

My Brother has a Dell Laptop with: X1 Rcom Cardbus Ethernet 100+ Modem 56 com

When I try to connect to the internet the modem asks for a user name and password.  I DO NOT know what they are and I can't access the web, I keep getting Error # 691, "user name and/or password invalid".  Also, I do not have any documentation on the cardbus.

How can I cancel the user name and password and create a new one?
