What Year was Adam Wade the host of MUSICAL CHAIRS? And when did the show premiere? How long did the show last?

i was a contestant on "musical chairs." the musical group working the show with adam was a very young "sister sledge." i won 200 bucks. i believe this was 1975 or '76.

I once tutored Adam Wade when he was making the transition to more upbeat music.I also did the demos for two of the songs on the "alexanders soul time band"album.He hosted musical chairs in 1976 when Don Kirshner took a liking to him and decided to record him in a different direction, with song writers Gene Allen and Gary Knight.He has always been a kind and considerate man.I have not talked to him since 1978 but have seen him in many tv ads.

I loved this show because it was the first time I ever saw a Black man host a game show. I was about 12 or 13. This would have been in 1975 or 76. Anyway the show only lasted about a year. Note, I recognized his voice before I caught his face in a recent TV ad about a man that needed a smoke so much he was out in the trash looking for a pack he had discarded. he' wearing a yellow shirt and has salt and pepper hair. Still a cutie after all these years!
