Okay, I got my bellybutton pierced exactly two months ago to this day! I had it done January 1st, 2006! I went to this tattoo/piercing shop. The guy who did it gave me all the information that I needed. He started by having me lay down in a long chair, and he then marked the spot where the needle would go through. Then, he clamped my skin in that area, and in went the needle. He said, "It's in." and I was like, "what? I didn't even feel anything! I was still waiting for the needle to go through and to feel pain, when actually the needle was already through and there was no pain whatsoever." So yeah, the only pain that you might experience while getting your bellybutton pierced, would be when the piercer is transferring the needle to the barbell. So yeah, just let your parents read this! This is 100% true! You will MOST DEFINITELY not get infected. That is very rare in fact. It is possible that you might get a puss bubble, but that is NOT an infection and can be quickly healed by mixing sea salt with warm water, and soaking your bellybutton in it for about 10 minutes. If you do this occasionally, your bellybutton will heal very quickly. And as soon as you get it done, you will feel so GREAT! It is awesome. Another plus about getting your bellybutton pierced, is that it literally boosts your self esteem. It makes you feel better about your appearance and you are more likely to be happier about yourself. Most parents usually freak out if their kids ask to get their bellybutton's pierced. Trust me, my parents did too! But, I did some research on it, told them a lot of information about getting it pierced, and they finally came around. I recommend that the females who get it done, are fully grown. If you think that you are going to get a lot taller than you currently are, then don't get your bellybutton pierced for a while, because otherwise your piercing will stretch your skin and leave bad scar tissue. This has not happened to me, but if you are toooooo young to get it done, then I would recommend don't do it. You should be around the ages of 13+. By that time, most females have grown alot, some have grown to their full potential, so they can get their navel'spierced. Also, to clean your piercing, soak it in sea salt with warm water 10 minutes a day, use bactine on it, Dial soap in the shower, and any antibacterial soap on it. If you clean it regularly and keep track of it and if you are responsible with your piercing, you are most likely not to have any problems with it until it heals. But, if you play with it, or touch it with your dirty hands, you are risking getting a puss bubble. I have had one, and trust me, it isn't the greatest. It's not an infection, its just a big bubble around the opening of the piercing that is full of puss. If you get one of these, just clean your piercing twice as much as you usually do. Then your piercing will most likely heal faster. If you have anymore questions about getting your bellybutton pierced, please email me at sexay_kookie@hotmail.com. I am always online on MSN!
