No. You should just pay the fine. Be sure to send in a money order or certified check since most courts will not accept a personal check.

what if you had a lap belt on would that be a violation

got a seat belt ticket stating "drove w/o secured in seatbelt"  but I was wearing the bottom portion over my lap, just not the shoulder harness.  Large women, tight belt  is the ticket "fightable"  in Texas
