I want to leave my 2 chi's outside in the backyard that is fenced, while i am doing housework.   They both weigh just at 2 lbs., and I am concerned about birds of prey. Just when is it save to let them play in the yard without the concern of an owl, hawk, eagle etc. swoopping down and taking them away.????

My sister caught a hawk attempting to take her chi. Luckily she came out in time to scare it away. Her chi had to go to the vet emergency clinic and get stitches in it's neck area. Months later a hawk got my pet skunk whom I had let out for just a few minutes. If you have hawks in your area I would only put them in an enclosed area WITH A TOP!Otherwise, don't do it.

its never a good idea to leave chis out in the yard alone, even a 6lb chi is at risk of a bird attack,  if there getting underfoot while your doing your housework perhaps investing in a playpen or baby gate, to keep them from wherever your doing the housework.
