How often do dogs (labrador retrievers) come in season-how many months apart?

Only your dog can tell you this. It can be as young 6 months or over a year. The time between heats also varys greatly in dog. From 4-14 months apart. When she goes into heat the second time count how long it has been since the first one and she will stick to that pattern for the most part. The average is every 6 months(about twice a year) but my dog goes into heat about every 9-11 months!

My German shepherd goes into heat every 11 months & she 1st went into heat at 1 1/2 years old.
