I bought a bichon poo seven years ago from a pet store.  I paid $450!  I just fell in love.  I have not regretted one day with him.  He is smart, lovable and trained very easily.  He would never bite anyone.  They don't shed, which is a good thing, but you need to have them groomed about every 8 weeks.

I have seen Bichon Poos priced from $800 (for the toy variety down to $600.  I am sure they are less from a breeder than a pet store.  My dog seems to have all bichon traits but is of slighter build.  Bad traits would be:  Tearstaining, allergies, and long housebreaking time.  The good traits far outweigh the bad.  He is the sweetest, smartest dog I've ever owned.  He is so gentle with children and just wants to be loved. A great dog!

I paid $450. for mine at a pet store. He is very sweet and lovable, I had no trouble with housebreaking, only a few accidents.Mine is black so I don't have the trouble with tear staining but he goes to groomers every 4-6 weeks or he will get matted. He is also a one person dog and follows me everywhere.  Badside, he is hyper and jumps up on people when they first come in.  Loves kids and gets along great and plays with the cats.

We just bought a Bichon-poo from a breeder for $75.00 in Greenville, TX. I looked at his mother and father and they seemed to be in very good health and had good temperments. Ours is a boy and his name is Romeo he is very sweet and playfull.

Don't pay to much for them. They are sweet dogs but they are not recognized as actual breeds and you shouldn't have to pay much for a mutt. Don't pay any more than $200. Any breeder that prices mutts in the higher hundreds (3,4,5,6,etc) is not some one you should trust right away. It makes me mad when breeders try to make people pay alot of money for something they know is not worth that much. Don't get me wrong the dog itself is worth it but don't be fooled by the people who are only in this business to overprice animals and make money!!

Wonderful dogs.  I have owned Bichon'sand the worst part is the housebreaking.  But you put the poodle in with it and you shouldn't have a hard time.  I have a 10 week old Bichon poodle mix and she is the most playful and loving thing!  Wouldn't suggest paying more than about 300 but they are hard to find for less. At any rate, I would suggest adopting one...you will be pleased.

All the Bichon-poos I have seen start at $600.  I am from MI & desperately want a Bichon-poo.  If you can tell me where I can find one for $250, I would be willing to drive quite a distance!  This weekend I am looking at a full Bichon.  I am concerned as the mixed breeds generally have no problems. (Not that I've heard Bichons do).  I have heard that full Bichon is hard to housebreak.  Does anyone know?

I just bought a Bichon poo and he is 8 wks old. I love him to death but he has a lot of energy and he will play with you all day if you allow him to. I paid 200.00 for him and it was worth it! oh yeah, i'm having a heck of a time trying to housebreak him.

My family has had two Bichon Poos, brother and sister, for three years. They are great dogs and are very lovable. I seriously suggest getting a siblings if you can afford it. The bond they share is unbelievable, and they wash each other's faces.

While slightly simple at times, which we think is kind of cute, they are also intelligent.

Good traits: Lovability, fairly trainable, and intelligence.

Bad traits: Grooming and stubbornness. (Takes a while to break certain habits.)

I paid about $450 for my bishon poo, and she was worth every penny.  She is the cutest sweetest little dog and loves to play.  She actually brings the ball back and kind of throws it at you.  She'll go racing after it when you throw it, and I always poop out before she does.  She has endless energy and doesn't have a mean bone in her body.  She has some cute quirky little traits that make you laugh.  I have an American Eskimo and she licks his face and eyes and inside his ears.  (too bad she's spayed.  She would have made a great mom.)  I've had dogs all my life, but never any as cute and lovable as my little bishon poo.  Her name is Puff.  If I didn't already have two dogs, I would love to have another bishon poo.

Well, I am also looking at getting a bi-poo and they sound like great pets. I have also been looking at miniature labradoodles, but cant seem to decide between the two of them, what one would you suggest? I can't exercise them everyday, but I may be able to once or twice a week and am living in a small home.

Amazing! We rescued a bichon/poodle at our local shelter. Guess she was about 2 - 2 1/2 years old. Wandering the streets - abandoned, matted, dirty. Boy did she clean-up! Sweet, well natured, puppy-like, playful (the white ninja), wants to please. She has taken over our house and our other dog - a chow / lab, BEAUTIFUL boy.
Save a pet! They are just waiting for love.

Hi. My parents have never been dog people, but my mom saw a Bichon-poo at a pet store and fell in love. We have never before considered dogs, because my youngest sister is allergic to dogs. We are learning as much as we can about these dogs, because we think that these dogs would be good in our family. I was shocked to see you guys say not to buy one over 200! The one we saw at the pet store was for 1,000! My mom has decided not to spend more than 500 on one, though I think I'll tell her to go cheaper. Do any of you know a good breeder in or near Illinois? Thanks!

I have a bichon/poo that I bought at a pet store in Riverview, MI for $700 including shots and microchip. I thought it was a lot to pay but couldn't find any breeders around here. My kids have allergies to most dogs/cats and our bichon/poo hasn't bothered them at all. He is 4 months and still having a hard time housebreaking. He will go a bit outside, then come in and go some more. He will also stay at the door unless I go out with him.

He hates to be groomed, and has a hard time with tear stains.

He loves any visitor and greets them very happily.

I have an 8-month bichon-poo, Sparky, and he was worth every penny of the $375 I paid for him.  His name fits him as he is very sparky and LOVES to have his belly rubbed.  He would never bite anyone and loves kids.  I agree they do like to jump on every new person who walks in the door.  He has lots of energy but also loves to snuggle.  Grooming is VERY important and must be done every 5-6 weeks to avoid matting.

I got lucky and got one from a shelter.
Like that he does not shed.  Happy playful pup.  Not difficult housetraining.
Dislike - no manners - jumps all over everyone.  Has not displayed 'seperation anxity' the pure bichon'sdo but...requires a lot of attention.

My parents, brother, and my family each have a bichon poo. My parents own the oldest named Biscuit because he is all white and we named ours Gravy. I know strange but cute to us, anyway my brother had to break the mold ofcourse and name his girl Lacy. Well, none of us paid over 200 for the bichon poos pups. Biscuit and Gravy I have to say potty trained very well. Lacy on the other hand still having problems she's about 2 years old. Anyways, these dogs are smart and extremely loving and gentle. They love to play. The only bad thing about Gravy is his tearstaining. We have to clean his eyes out often, he's so used to it. He used to pull away but now he's okay with it. Their perfect family dogs.

I bought a bichon poo for a heck of a lot of money (over 800) but it included her first vet visit plus a micro chip.  She was easy to housebreak once i treated every pee and poop.  she is 6 months old and never has accidents.  she is only hyper when we chase her outdoors.  we trained her to come, go to bed, stop and other little things.  we love her and cannot imagine another playfriend to our 4 year old

Looking at what I have read here, I over paid for ours in the 6 range.

We had a bichon poo I found at the SPCA. Someone said his wife passed away and he didnt have the time to spend with her. She was a great dog.

she saved our house from burning down. Someone cleaned out our fireplace the next day not realizing the coals were still hot. Cleaned it out and put them in the trash can. My wife left I came home, showered and was getting ready to leave for a church Deacons meeting when I seen the Dog going crazy in the kitchen. The coals burnt through the waste basket and the linoleum and was burning into the wood.

How valuable can a dog be.

When this dog passed away two years ago, we wanted to get ourselves another Bichon Poo. Drove 350 miles to get him. Can hardly tell the difference between the two dogs. But definitely can in there manerisms.

Real playful, Easy to house break, inteligent, and agree have to get groomed regularly.
