Hi...I'm assuming your note says Confederate States of America.This is what is called a fantasy note.This note was never issued by the Confederate government.It is a fake.The largest note the Confederate government issued was $1000 Montgomery issued in 1861 a very rare note since there were only 607 notes issued.I'm afraid your note has no value.Email with any questions at marlofan@aol.com.

As Pete mentioned, there is no $10000 bill from 1864.  The highest denomination the US had made up to that point was a five-thousand dollar interest-bearing note from 1861.  The US had other obligations that were not circulating, of the $10000 denomination, but they looked (and functioned) more like bonds than paper money.

The first ten-thousand dollar bill was a gold certificate from 1865, of which none are extant, as they were all redeemed and destroyed.  The earliest known outstanding ten-thousand is, I believe, a gold certificate from 1882.

I have to tell you that the 10000 dollar note exist! they were given out and in the 2nd world-war they get forgotten but you could today pay with them like with an normal 1 dollar note!

I'm just wondering. what the value of a $1000 Montgomery bill issued in 1861 is worth.  It's in good condition.

there are 10000 dollar notes but all belong to the treasury so your note is fake
