I don't think you should use alcohol.  You might want to try a sea salt soak (1/4 tsp of sea salt in 8 oz. of water in a clean cup and place over your piercing twice a day) or just a warm compress (as hot as you can stand without burning yourself) applied to the area twice a day for 15 min. might help.

I had a keliod on my belly piercing too, but then it got so bad that i had to remove my piercing. After that there was a really nasty scar which didn't go away for like 2 years. SO i went to my doctor to ask him if it was possible to cut it off, but apprently it gets worse if you do. So go to your doctor and ask him what to do. Mine injected the keliod with something starting in "c" and its become totally flat now. and as for the scar just put any scar remover cream. No marks works.

keliod and hypertrophic scar (raised scar) occurs when your body over-heals. This means your body just continues to heal long after the wound is closed.  This leads to scaring or keliods.  You must stop this excessive healing by applying a steriod ointment or cream to the site.  watch out for infection. if present treat with antibiotic.

I think you should clean it with some light cream or salty water with a cotton bud. Not tissue or cotton wall cause it will rip your skin so be carefull!! xxx

i've got the same thing and mines been in for 8months and is fully healed- i guess some people just aren't meant to get pierced!! i recommend just putting savlon on it,keep it clean and leave it alone- once its healed its healed but u might be left with a permanent keliod scar though! if ur black then keloids are genetic and run in black people so there is more chance in it remaining there

I had a keloid for many years on my arm.  I tried injections of steroids with no success.  I finally went to a Plastic surgeon who removed it surgically....$1000..........BUT it came back 12 months later bigger than before.  A few years later I had a cyst removed from my back... and yep a keloid formed.  Just leave it alone.
