if we declare two global variables of same name it will not...

if we declare two global variables of same name it will not give any error on unix machine ...why???
eg: int a;
    int a;
    main() {
    }

Think it will treat them as two declarations of the same variable, therefore just redundant, not actually wrong.

This question is moreover compiler dependant. In UNIX the cc compiler thinks that this is a redundant declaration and will discard it. So you dont get a error. But with some other compiler you are bound to get an error. So when you write a program you should know about your compiler.
