I have found a smokey smell by the service panel and have traced it to the two black or hot wires coming from my local Hydro company's lines into my house.  Where the two black wires connect to my residential service panel they are warm to the touch and become hot as I turn on various appliances (washer, dryer, range) in the house.  The circuit-breaker that connects these two wires to the panel is also warm.  What is going on? Should I be concerned? The smokey smell is kinda like insulation toasting. Thanks

have an electrician check the wires to see that they are tight, if they are loose they will heat up especially when you put load on it such as dryer range etc
