Since you can break the tabs off the side of a standard outlet and create two separate outlets,  is it okay to run one circuit into the top outlet and another circuit into the bottom outlet thereby creating two separate 110 volt outlets in the same single gang box?  Does it matter which leg of the breaker box each circuit is from? (Of course, you would label the box and breakers so that anyone working on that outlet would know that there are separate circuits in there.)
