search your hard drive for 'hosts'
There should be 2-3 files or so.
Open those files up in notepad, and there should be multiple lines that all point to some ip address (looks like 213.183.18.32 or something) followed by a few spaces then msn.com, google.com, search.microsoft.com, and lots of others... delete all the lines, save the file, and reboot. that will fix it.

You should install spybot S&D, that will make it. But a firewall program will always be helpful for you.

If you use Windows XP, you´re in luck, all you have to do is a simple system restore, go back to any date BEFORE the spyware was installed in your PC, wait for the date restoration, and voila, just make sure to get rid of the pesky spam icons in your desktop ASAP!!
