Does piercing your belly button hurt?

hey Anchovieeee, ok what they do is (well what they SHOULD do) is, they let you pick out the ring etc. out, and then they have to sterilize it in an oven type thing, takes about 5, 10 or even 15 mins, then they take you into a room, and have you stand up so they can make the mark on you belly (where you want it), then they have you lay down, they clean your belly, then they put a clap on your bellybutton, and they SHOULD use a 14 gauge, hollow needle looking thing (DO NOT EVER GET PIERCED WITH A GUN) then they put it thro and the pain only supposed to last about 10 secs could be longer? anyways then the put like sometimes a ring or something until they are ready for the one you picked out, then they put it in and the your done. ok well g2g please everyone respond to my question?

Hi everyone. i have been reading all these letters of people asking if it hurts. well don't stress cause it don't hurt that much. but everyone is different. i am a body piercer from Aust. i have my belly pierced 4 times. all around it, and i'm not going by my feelings. but every belly that i have pierced, or almost anything for that matter all end up saying "that didn't hurt as much as what i thought it would". so be brave, even take some friends with ya if that will make you feel better. but hey, don't hide it from your parents cause they will find out one day. and 1 big word of advice, DON'T DO IT YOURSELF!!! not to hate, but you don't know what your doing, you could get a nasty infection, you might cause stress to that part of your body and you might leave a scar that is with you for the rest of your life. for those of you that have done it yourself, more power to you for having the guts 2 do it, but if you mess it up, it's in your hands. peace.

Getting your belly button pierced doesnt hurt at all. i seriously barely felt it. It really depends on how you take pain, but its just a pinch, its no big deal. LeXy, its better to get it poierced with a ring first, becasue its alooot easier to clean. if you have a barbell while its healing it just rubs against it to much and it gets infected. like when you site down and crouch over, the bottom of your belly button pushed the ring up and thats not good for it. When i got mine done, they did it with a ring, but then i changed it 3 weeks after to a barbell(DO NOT change it until it heals - in like 2-3 months. i know i was stupid for changing it =]).Most places usually do it with a ring becasue of these reasons.

I've had my belly pierced for about a month. I live in Ohio so things here might be different but you HAVE to be 18, there are no exceptions, if you want ANY piercing without having a parent with you. If you are under 18, you have no choice, it HAS to be your mom or dad. If you've gotten your cartilage on your ear pierced, honestly, I think that hurt more than getting my belly pierced. (I have my cartilage done 3 times)There wasn't anything to it. DON'T try to do it yourself or have a friend who thinks they know do it. Go somewhere professional and get it done by someone who knows what they are doing. If you don't, chances are, it isn't in far enough, or it will be crooked and most likely get infected. Make sure the place you go to is clean. As for pain, take your fingers and pinch your belly.. not too hard but with a decent amount of pressure. Thats it. Thats all you feel. Ask the person if he/she will count to three for you. When he gets to 2, inhale (this is when he will pierce) and exhale on 3. Pain is less when you inhale. There won't be blood, you won't pass out, its really quick and painless. Just clean it EXACTLY like they tell you and it should heal up and be fine :) I hope that helped!

alright here you go ladies well im 14 and one night with my friend i was just like alright im gonna do it...so i got a large safety pin and before that got a ring to put in it..i suggest a 14 gauge CURVED barbell as the first thing to put in it. i have had it in for about a month now and i have been taking very good care of it...well heres some tips for how you should do it if your planning on doing it by yourself..make sure you get rubbing alchol and clean your belly and the needle with it exteremly well but before that you should sterelize the needle with a lighter until it turns a bit black then whipe of the black and heres the best tip i can give you GO FROM THE INSIDE OF YOUR BELLY BUTTON TO THE TOP because i had already done it once before and i went from top to inside and it closed up because i couldnt find where the ring should come out.then just take your time and pinch a good amount of skin and just slowly shove it through it dosent hurt at all unfortunatly mine was not the sharpest needle so it took me two hours to get it completely through. you can ice it during the process if you need to. then you will start to see and feel the tip coming through and when you do twist it a little and it should suddenly jsut poke through! and when it does it will feel a little weird but its okay. now waht you want to do is leave the safety pin in your belly button over night so the hole wont close up because when i did it the first time i took it out right away and it closed. so leave the safety pin in a coulple of days then in order to stretch it out so that a barbell will fit in it you should move the non sharp end of the safety pin to the left side and leave it there for a few hours then turn it to the right side and that will stretch it a bit...then in a few days i suggest like 5 or so take the pin out and clean it completely with a little water and rubbing alchol and i use a little antibiotic cream stuff....and i love my belly ring it is adoralbe and im so glad that i did it but if your planning to do it safely and it wont hurt a bit believe me it hurts less then geting your ears pierced but remember it takes a lonnnng time to heal so make sure that no one hits you or anything there be cause it will hurt like no other lol and clean it maybe two tiems a day to get the gooey stuff that comes out out of it...good luck girls let me know if you tried the way i did and how it went!

PLEASE PEOPLE DO NOT PIERCE YOUR OWN BELLY BUTTON! Your belly button is the a piercing with the longest time to heal and most prone to infection. Doing it yourself increases the chance of infection by a lot. It will hurt less, be safer, and look better having it done by a professional. Plus if you go to a professional they can tell you the way to proper way to care for your piercing. Also I just read a question about gauge size. No matter what a ring says or people say no gauge is one size fits all. Everyone has a certain gauge that is best for them. When you get it professionally done they tell you. TO answer the question above about infection signs of infection are severe redness, swelling or hardness around the piercing, pain (usually throbbing pain, a small amount of pain is normal especially when rubbed against in the first few weeks), warm to touch and a thick discharge yellow or green in color (white to yellow discharge is normal and expected but if it becomes darker and thicker that is most likely an infection). If you experience any of these signs DO NOT remove the jewelry! Visit your piercer of doctor right away. An infection can lead to more serious problems if untreated. My dad is a doctor and freaked when I got mine done (even thought i am 20) b/c he knows how dangerous belly button rings can be if not taken care of properly or done wrong and how serious infections are. And to answer another question about the process You go there and they have you lie down and check your skin then they have you stand up and mark you and sit down again and they clean you then they might check again having you stand up. Then they clamp your belly button have you inhale and then when you exhale they take the needle and go from inside to out. It might sting b/c they put lubricant on to help ease the needle through they will clean that off in a second though and mine didn't hurt after that. Please really think about getting it done before you do. And i recommend getting it done in the fall when you have plenty of time to heal before you go in the water or have to show it off.

Hi i got my bellybotton periced 3 weeks ago and i am 13. when i got it periced it hurt alittle but u know that is just me everyone is differnt with pain. xxxhoneyxxx i am sry to say be it would get infected if u go to ur swimming party becuz u at least can't go in to the lake,swimming pool, soaking in the bath tub, or the ocean for 4 to 6 weeks. The next day after i got periced i went shopping and i acitdently hit my belly botton percing with my hand and it hurt like hell. For it to heal it take 2 to 6 months but u can change the percing after 8 weeks. I suggest don't play with it after to touch a door hadel in school or anything that has germs on it when ur bellybotton is in the process of healing. if u have any questions e-mail me at bluesurfer09@msn.com

Hi guys! I'm a thirty year old doctor from Australia, and have been piercing a lot of my patient's belly buttons recently. I'm not trying patronize you, but I feel like I need to give you some advice. When you get a piercing, you are having something pushed through your skin, into your body. It is only sensible to think it will hurt. Some places provide numbing, which helps to ease the pain. I can not stress enough how important it is to get it done professionally and keep it clean!! You only get one body, and you don't want to get it scarred or infected by doing an amateur job on it, just because you were too cheap to pay to get it done professionally. In regards to when you can swim and how to keep it clean, wake up!! Whether it's already done, or you're planning to get it done, ask a professional these questions, preferably before it's done. Don't take the word of teenage girls sitting at home dishing out advice at the same time they ask questions, as they obviously don't know everything themselves. I'm only saying this to help you, not to scare you, as I think it looks quite nice on the right person. I have mine done, and have been happy with the results. My dad took me to get it done. I was crying sooo bad like the only words that came out of my mouth was "Is it going to hurt?" Well im here to tell ALL that it DOES NOT HURT AT ALL!! and im a big wuss for pain but believe me i cant see how people can SCREAM when they get it done everyone who says it hurts is just trying to scare you into not getting it done but if you wanna get it done GET IT! It looks sooo cute! So you guys wanna here my whole story? Well here it is...On Saturday April 24,2004 (my birthday!!)my dad took me to get my belly pierced i was sooo excited! Okay...I'm 18 and got my belly button pierced back in January. Don't do it yourself because if it does get infected its not going to just infect your belly button, it will actually be an internal infection...it doesn't matter if your friends mom has pierced hers before of whatever, it can still get infected. If you do end up doing it yourself don't use a piercing gun that are normally used on your ears, all it does is ram a earing through there, and it can actually get stuck! Get it done professionaly, and it doesn't matter if you use a barbell or a ring, I got mine done with a barbell because I think they look better. I didn't think it hurt at all but that all depends on how you tolerate pain...most people don't think it hurts. All they do is take you back..mark your stomach so its straight, you lay down, they clamp it with these things, push a hollow needle through, and follow it with either your barbell or ring. After you get it done, dont use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol...it prolongs the healing process and it takes longer. Use like liquid dial soap to clean it while your in the shower, and don't touch it unless you are in the shower or that increases your chance of infection. I hope this helps all you

Ok, i have a few questions, i would REALLY appreciatte it if ya'll answer. Ok, Im 13 years old, (14 in one month) And earlier i had pierced my bellybutton by my self. It has a scar, and now my mom MIGHT let me get it done professionally, and was wondering if it hurt. Does it hurt more, for me Bcuz i pierced it B4 by myself? And what gauge siza should i use? What should, i use, a ring or barbell? And im am not th skinniest person out there, but im not fat, id say im in the middle, average size, would it look weird cuz i dont have a flat tummy? hey girls whats up? my name is angela and im 15 years old. i got my belly button done for my 15th birthday on january 31st this year. i was so scared!! you have no idea i almost passed out! i am the biggest wimp of pain. when i stub my toe i freik out and cry. but when i got it done on a pain rate of 1-10 i would say about a 4! so its not bad at all i promise. before i got mine done i was getting on these sites asking people if it hurt and i didnt know what to believe so i almost backed out. im so glad i didnt its so cute and its almost summer and i can show it off! my advise is dont look at the needle at all. it will scare you more. thats what i did so i wasnt so scared. it really isnt bad at all. if you can get your ears pierced or bite your tongue you can definately get your belly button pierced!! if its something you really want then go for it and dont hold back you'll regret it!! good luck....

This is an answer for *HANNAH* You are right do not let someone charge you less than £25 at least because for starters all the equipment is pricey, if they use the right stuff an plus your belly bar or ring if they use the right metal (which should be titanium) I got mine done for £42 and the place was very good an I got my belly button numbed by having it freezed! (very much recomended) you should really have a parent/guardian with you if you are under 18 years because it is likley that they will ask for a signature! This answer is for Chantelle! It takes about 2 - 7 days for the hole to fully close up! By the way your belly button dosent fully heal until a year after the piercing! But you are allowed to change it 3 monthes + after the piercing has took place! This answer is for Azaylia!! It wont look funny at all if you dont have a flat stomach! If you have a ring in your belly button there is a higher chance of it getting infected, as with a barbel they are easier to clean an easy to change! So I would say a barbel is better! But it is up to you! This answer is for Johanna!! Only a few piercing places numb it! To numb it they will freeze it! Which is very very cold! O.o My some of u guys are such baby's! it doesn't hurt at all dont worry about it , it applies to different people ,but i am only 13 and i seriously diden't feel more than a pinch! ,But i have a question..i think..no.. I KNOW i have an infection because around my piercing its dry and red and somewhat swollen i have NOOo idea how i got it!! i clean my piercing twice a day maybe its the tight belts i wear , but does anyone know how i can treat it? any suggestions will work due to im scared to tell my mom its infected because 1) i changed the belly ring 2 months after i got it when she told me to wait until the ENTIRE healing process is over (6 months to a year) 2) she might make me take it out!

Hey everyone. well i went to get my belly button pierced yesterday but the guy said i had to be 16 and im 15. but anyways im tryin to find out where my friends got theres, so if you in VA tell me where you got yours done. oh and does it hurt alot i mean i've been pinch my belly all day tryin to find out how bad it hurts. oh yeah and yesterday i went wit my sister to get hers done for the second time, because her first one wasnt straigt, but um she said it didnt hurt and i watched it all. First they clean your belly, then mark it, then tell you to lay down and clap your belly button, then grab the neddle, then tell you to take a deep breath, adn then when they tell you to let it out slowly they pierce it. so my question is WHERE CAN I GET IT DONE, AND DOES IT HURT?

um i am 13 gonna b 14 in lyk 5 days ( july 4) n i got my belly button pierced lyk 9 weeks ago n it really just feels lyk a pinch lyk the clamp is really pinch n then when they stick the needle through lyk the pinching just feels lyk it got tighter n thats it i even forgot i had it when i walk n stuff now it is healing but u have to wash it n do not play w/ it at all until lyk 3 months b/c i did n lyk i lost the ball to the ring i had n lyk i had to put in a barbell when it was too early n it got infected a lot n it sumtimes hurts wicked bad but lyk now its ok n lyk the pain does go away when its infected lyk give it a week n if it hurts longer than that then u should go to a docter or the piercer cuz it could b lyk bad ... yea

Hey guys tomorrow i am calling n going to make an appt. to get muh belly button pierced......i live in Massachusetts n i have read that u have to get i pierced with a ring so i was wondering if it is tru...do u have to get a ring....i kno they say it is easier to clean but do u have to i mean they can't force uright they just give u ur opinion....i do believe that it is easier to clean MAYBE but if i have to clean it twice as hard n pay more attention i will.....i just don't wanna get it done with a ring that i kno i won't like n not be happy so neway yea i was just wondering if ne1 in Massachusetts knows if u hve to or if u can get it done with a curved barbell cuz tht is wat i want!! hi im 17 years old(just to let you no i cant spell at all lol sry but i have to tipe this fast so i cant go back and fix my mis-spellind sry!!!!) ok well i got my belly button pierced today and i got it done with a barbell.i got told it would heal up better with one because it is curved differently & it would heal faster and better because its made out of sergical steal.it wouldent get infected as badlly and the color of it wouldent fade away.well when i got it done it hurt the first time,i had to get it done twice which really sucked a lot.she keeped trying to shove it in,she sayed i moved eventhough i didnt!she was the one that todally messed up!enyway the second time it was like a pice of cake i like diddent even feel it thats because i payed an extra 15 dollars for some stuff that nums you.but it was well worth it man cuz the first time was hell.well i would get it done with what ever you want but make sure that were your getting it done at is really good at piercings ok,dont make the mistake i did!!!so go have fun and get it done :)

hey i'm 14 and i just got it done! i was so happy my mom an dad said yes. i asked all my friends that had it if it hurt an everyone said no an 2 of my friends said that it hurt really bad so deep down i was soooooo scared, but i wanted it so bad that i got it. my dad took me an my friend came for the support. i sat down in the chair an was white and looked like i was going to pass out...the guy cleaned my belly butten and then had me stand up so he could mark where he was going to pierce it and then i sat down and told him i did not want to see the needle so he said to close my eyes so i did and i held my dads hand and in a matter of 5 sec. it was done no lie it was nothing an when it was done i was so happy. so if u want to get it done go for it cause it was nothing and its so fun when its done cause you can go bye different rings an stuff well have fun an don't worry! lol (just so you no i am a big baby an i cant take pain ...this was nothing)

Tacy, Ive had my navel pierced for 10 years and I've had two children during that period of time .Pierced navels dont have anything to do with having children.The only thing is that when you start to show you have to take it out for a while until after you've had your baby.If you go ahead and get yours pierced now it should be no problem. hope ive helped you .by the way i am a professional tatoo artist and body piercer.For the girl who sais getting in the ocean is bad for a piercing. you need to check your facts before you run ya mouth .the ocean actually helps heal a piercing because of the salt in the water.but if you do get in the water make suer you wash your piercing with clean water afrter. anyway gotta go hope ive helped! Getting your Belly Button Pierced does not hurt much. I have a very low tollerance for pain and i have had it done twice. One time i went to a place that was not very clean and it got infected. So that is why i have had it twice. So if i can do it repedatly then you can do it too. Just make sure you have found a place that is clean and make sure YOU SEE them pull all the equipment out of a sterial bag. A auto clave bag. That way you know it is clean and you won't get a infection from getting pierced with dirty stuff. I wish i had knew that . Oh and dont touch your piercing for a while. I was never told that also. So just go get it done if you want it . I promise you won't regret it.

I've always wanted my belly button pierced. My parents finally let me get it done for my 15th birthday. I go to the same place where my parents get their tattoos. There really clean and everything is sterilized. When u get it done all it feels like is a pinch.I doesn't't't'ruin your stomach.When you get older and want to have kids they make these things called retainers and it is a plastic bar bell and it keeps your hole open. just always remember to keep it clean. It takes about 6 months to two years form it to heal. It is a piercing that is lengthy in time to heal properly.You'll know when it is fully healed because the skin around your piercing will be the color of the rest of your skin. If you are impatient and can't wait that long for it to heal you can use sea salt. You put some sea salt in a cup with some warm water and then place the cup over your piercing for about 5 minutes. Don't play with the piercing and don't touch it with dirty fingers.

hey guys ive been reading all these answers, my answer to molly dont let n e 1 pierce ur belly button unless they r a certified professional piercer i have read hundreds of storys about people piercing their own belly buttons its real nasty you get scar tissue and have to go to hospital and sumtimes its life threatening this is no joke guys if i was u i would rather pay 100 bux than get a gross scarred belly button for the rest of your life... i reali want mine done im 12 turning 13 in about a month and my mum says no not until ur 16 my dad rekons it looks good does anyone have any tactics 2 munipulate my mum and make her change her mind? my suggestions to convince ur parents r: tell them how bad you want it done say u wont get any other piercings until ur 16-18 you wont complain to them if it hurts you'll pay * & they dont have to ever see it! hope this helps folks happy piercing!

Hey! You may have heard a few previouse posts from me going on about me being so scared and bla bla bla. ok grls I know you want da TRUTH! so here it is, when i had mine done, I thought that the clamps felt nice! (I'm wiered when it comes to things like that. But i find certain pain pleasurable. (I can't remember what the name for it is.) So the clamps felt nice but the needle stung. A BIT. it hurts when it first goes in. as it is going in you can feel it going through your body then you feel it come out. it hurts when the needle enters and exits. Not when it is actually iside of you. Then they put the jewellery in. that just felt like a little mini sting. then once it has been all done up the pain just dissapiers. it is actually facinating how quick it goes! I chose a barbell with a bluee greenie bottom ball with a clear gem and a gold colour ball with a clear stone in aswell. the bar is green blue and prpl it is so lovely. it stings afterwards for a couple of days. but no matter what pain you go through afterwards, YOU HAVE YOU BELLY BUTTON PIERCED!

Hey everyone, i'm going to get my belly button pierced on monday, ( today is saturday ). I'm not going to ask if it hurts or not, but not to be mean or anything niether should anyone else beacuse there is not a TRUE answer tot he question. Everyone else has a different pain tollerance, a different piercer ect. ect. But if you want it done go for it!! if it's somthing you really want done and everything. I am going to The Matchbox, in Fort Myers, Florida. ( i'm from syracuse, new york i'm on vacation ) I have already checked the place out and everything is very sterile and clean. The people are also very nice. As far as ring or barbell, it is better to get a barbell becaue if you have a ring it never truly lays flat it always goes from side to side when you're wearing shirts and stuff over it but the barbell lays flat to you stomache and is sure to heal better. Well I think that if you are scared if it is goin to hurt or not...you arent mature enough to get it done. You should listen to yourself...and when your body tells you are ready and you arent scared of the "pain" ne more then that is the time. Also for the younger girls (12-15)...your bodies are still growing...good luck with your piercing getting stretched out as you grow. I think that the rule for you not to be able to get your belly pierced until you are 16 is very smart. I know yall wanna look cute..but honestly you are too young. Stick to your middle school ways...and listen to your parents. They know what they are talking about. So stop bein brats!

Hey ya'll...I can tell a lot of you are scared and are planning to get your belly button pierced. Well, I have had mine done before. About a year ago. I am now 14. Getting your belly button doesn't hurt all that bad. You will feel a little pinch, but if you keep telling yourself it is going to hurt really bad and keep building up your nerves there will be a chance it will hurt more then it usually would. I personally think that getting your belly button pierce hurts less then getting your ears pierced. I also had my nose pierced sometime last year in the 8th grade and it did hurt more then a belly button piercing. Just make sure you all go to a safe & clean piercing parlor with trusting and professional piercers. hey ppl i got mine pierced on the 7th of april which about what 3 weekz ago... i was so scared before i got it done, i was freaking out cause they made me wait 20 minutes cause the piercer was at lunch...i must've stressed myself out to the max and i tried to be calm n cool as i walked into the piercing room, the piercer washed his hands then put sum rubber gloves on, he stood in a corner n sterilized the needle n stuff so i couldnt see (i only know this because i went with my friend the week erlier for support) he then measured me up and put 2 little dots on my belly button, i then layed down on the bed sorta-ish thing and i felt him put the clamp on i was so scared and i heard the piercer say 1, 2 and just as he was about to say 3 i was going to stop him but he said it and the needle went through, it hardly hurt at all, not so much like a pinch but a sorta little prick... i was so relieved that it was over n i got up and had a look at my belly in the mirror, but as the piercer was cleaning everything started to become black, i woke up a couple of seconds later lying on the bed not knowing what was going on, apparantly i froze up and fell backwardz and smashed my head against the wall, when i woke up i was so dis-orientaded i threw up...i spose i copped the raw deal hey...my belly button also got infected after a couple of days, i couldn't beleive it!!! i'd been cleaning it how he told me and everything, and i went back there about 10 days after to show them what had happened to it, they gave me a new barbell and told me that the piercer had pierced it crooked, now after 3 weeks my belly is still infected but i don't regret it one bit...anyway sorry for draining u all... bek

Alo0o, I'm13 and i got my navel pierced on st George's day ( 23rd April) 2005 and it's honestly NOTHING for me. Please, don't stress at people for saying it hurts and other saying it doesn't, because at the end of the day it's your body and you are the person who knows your body more than anybody else. A stranger who reads your post can't tell you if it will hurt you, they can only talk from their experience, like me. I went into the place i was sooo worried. I paid £45 and went thru to a little room. I stood up while the pierced wiped some cleaning stuff and marked on. Then you lay down in what's like a dentist chair and i squeezed my eyes shut tightly. You know when the needle has pierced your stomach because you can feel it but for me it barely hurt. A bee sting, stinging nettle or biting your tongue DEFINITELY hurts more. Hope this helped! You should go for it, no pain no gain. It looks lovely and i love mine.It's easy to take care of. I'm English and i use something called Savlon, but it tends to vary depending on your location. Hey, Ok so ive wanted mine pierced for like a year, and finally after begging my parents thye finlly agreed, so yesterday me and my two friends, and my mom, went too this spa/nail place that also did body piercings.I kept asking the lady if it hurt, and she kept telling me it didnt,shes like if you are too scared you can walk around the mall till you're ready, but id chicken out if i waited any longer, so i went into the room, and sat down in the long white dentist chair thing, and she first but this like glob of yellow too clean the area, than she made a purple dot, than she took this clamp and stuck a needle through, the msot painful part, was when she put this thick metal bar through too like expand my hole enough for a barbelle, it hurts for like a few minutes, but its worth it. i love it. if you wanna get it done you definetly should.

hey well i got my belly button pierced about 11 weeks ago it did not hurt at all like i passed out when i got my ears pierced and i think this hurt less i got a barbell cuz i think they look better but i hear that with a ring you can turn them and such so it makes it easier to clean but they are kinda ugly in my op-pinion anyways you should clean it twice a day with pure saline and to salt water soaks it has worked for me they advised me to stay out of the water which makes sense swimming in dirty water that people could pee in but if you must just make sure you clean it well afterwords so i hope this has helped have fun i think they are awesome oh and don't change it before 4 months you could be at risk for a infection just wait

Ok, well I have had mine done for about a month now, before I got it done I thought it would hurt sooo bad. But you know, it doesnt at all. I felt soo stupid for being so nervous. He clamps it and that hurts a tiny bit but thats because he couldnt get any of my skin up because I am so damned skinny. He didnt even care that I was only 13, no one in NY does for certain piercings if you have your parents signature. Well, he told me "I am going to put it through now." So I said "Ok." And he wasted no time at all, it was like he just lifted his hand up and slammed it through. Which I know he didnt or my mom would have been mad. I leaned up a bit and went to look at the needle in my stomach but didnt. So he took out the thing after he had the hoop in and he closed it some and screwed the ball on. I just felt soo stupid for being nervous. Trust me it doesnt hurt one bit.

Alibabe244 get ur belly button pierced cuz if you get ur nose pierced and if it gets infected you can get a great big bump on your nose and it will look really bad ...if it gets infected ..belive meh my sister pierced her own nose and luckly it dodnt get infected she just had too put cream on it every day thow and now she has a scar on her nose and also she didnt sterilize the needle..But it looked kewl...but i would say belly button cuz if it get infected then you can cover it..And Vollbalchick11 your cuzzin is a liar you have too wait till the belly buttin is healed and then you can change it and i want to know does it hurt aswell...Even if it does i want it so0o bad ..meh and my bff are suppose too go this summer and get it done..But shes terrified of needles...and i dont want her too cry ...and we need a good place too get it done..And im nawt too sure what my parents will say cuz i really want it done like really badly ..how can i convince them toomlet meh get it done...if you have a idea or any questions please email meh or add my msn its lil_priss666@hotmail.com thanx luv u all ..buhbyex

hi im 13 and very small so wen i got my belly button done i thought it would hurt alot !!!!!!!! i was shaking a lot wen i went into the room the lady marked my belly button and told me to lie down on the bed then she clamped it this hurt a bit she then told me that was the worst part over and she put some cream/liquid on my belly button to numb it she then got got a white tube thing with a neddle on the end and stuck the end of my stud on it she pushed the neddle through the dot she had marked earlier this didnt hurt as much as the clamp she pushed the top on and put vaseline on it and a cotton pad. i went home and a hour later got into the shower to wash of the vaseline for the next 8 or so weeks i cleaned my belly button 2 times a day with the aftercare solution and washed my hands and belly button often to make sure i didnt get a infection i can now change my belly ring which i do do occasially i don't regret gettin my belly button done and would tell people that if you are prepared to look after the piercing probaly and get it pierced at the right place you will be very happy with the end result. i had my belly button pierced at the maxx in bromsgrove

Piercing your belly button doesnt hurt. i mean i went three days ago and i just felt a pinch, it feels like your getting a shot from the doctor. then when they take out the needle and put in the ring you cant even feel it. im not gonna lie, while the healing starts it does tend to hurt a bit but as long as u wash it real good and keep it moist and clean you'll be fine. any girls who like to wear tight clothes, u cant while your healing becuz your piercing need air to breathe or else it will get infected. also you cant use alcohol or peroxide water to clean it cuz it will make your skin dry. if you notice that your navel is infected take out the ring right away cuz the infection will only get worse. so if anyone cares to get their navel pierced i say go for it! the trick is to close your eyes while they pierce it and think of something else, they do it so quick that you probably wont notice they did it! well thatz the best answer i can give! good luck!

Okay u girls are obilsy Stupid of course its gonna hurt it not gonna tickel... like come on no pain no game... im getting mine done in 6 days and my Friend sam is comming...but shes gettign her nose done.. i didnt get it done but i have a few tips that may help;) 1) Call all the places around where to live u need to cinsider $$$ See if there clean make sure they use clean needles 2)Waiting for the day... well thats easy;) if ur mom wont give u any money theres ways around it like babysitting Yard sale...chores ect 3)The day of well ummm i would suggest to bring a disk man tjis is what u will do walk into the place pick your hoop or barbell...Im getting barbell then there gonna take u in a room which i think u should bring ur moma nd afriend so ur friend can get something peirced then u should put on the dis man and close ur eyes and POOF ur listrening to ur fav song with ur eyes closed when he puts the clamp on its all done and over with 4)DO NOT I MEAN DO NOT PEARICE IT URSELF MAYBE UR EAR...CAUSE I DID BUT IF U DONT WANNA PAY THER MONEY MAKE SOME...GETTING BASCK ON TRACK 5)After hes done take off the dis man and he will tell ya what to put on it and stuff Hope i helped ya mt hands are really sore so i dont wanna type any more Lol well if u have any Questions Just Add me on msn or email me @ ccc_cheerstar@hotmail.com <3 Brit**

omg im only 13 and my mom said i could get my bely button pierced!!! im really good wih pain and everythng but im still really nervous! i mean i got to the denist and if i have a cavity i get it filled wiht out novacane!! but still im really neverous and after reading all these stories it has made me more scared and is pushing me away from getting it done! so i have a few questions! the big one does it hurt? how do they do it? wut is better a ring or barbell for the first time? can u go swimming in a pool after u get it done? is ther a age limit? do they put the earing in the same time as the neddle? and wut do u htink looks cutier top or bottom? which hurts more top or bottom? ooooooooo and just so u kno im goign into the 8th grade so please answer my question bec i reall want to kno all the answers to my question bec if i can im goign to get it done in like 2 weeks or so!!! o ya and how much does it cost? than so much for the person thta answered all my questions i kno i had alot!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone i just got back pretty much from getting my belly button pierced im only 14 but you have to be 14 were i live so wen i got to the piercing shop i was really scared but my friend came along and was calming me down my mom signed all the forms and paid and then the piecer called me back into this room i was then really scared she made me stand up and she cleaned my belly and marked a hole for the needle to go through and come out she let me sit on the bed while she got everything ready when i saw her pull the needle out of a package i was so afraid it looked so thick and it looked like a minature spear she made me lay down and then she put ont the clamp ( i really dont no how people say that the clamp hurts more then the piercing cause to tell you the truth i barely felt her put it on) she then told me to take a deep breath in and slowly let it out and then she pierced it, it felt really tight and unusual cause u normally dont feel pain like that on your stomach but it wasnt that bad the only part that i thought actually kind of hurt was when she put the barbell in but otherwisae it was pretty good and it only hurt and stung for like 2 seconds then it was fine and im pretty bad with pain she let me look at it in a mirror and i really liked it im so glad i got it done and i think you all who want it should just go out and do it youll really enjoy it!

I got my bellybutton piercing for the first time 2 days ago. I'm a wimp and I was really timid about getting it done. I knew that I wanted it so the excitement pushed away any fear. When I laid down to get pierced, I was so nervous.. I had just watched my friend get it done, and it didn't look too painful, but I was still a little apprehensive. After putting the clamp on me, the man came over with the needle, put the cork to the upper side of my bellybutton, and pushed the needle through. I was in shock at how little it hurt. Honestly, my ear piercings hurt 10 times more. It was nothing, and I had gotten all nervous for no reason. So for anyone of age that is thinking about getting it done, but the fear of pain is getting in the way.. don't let it. To me, it was virtually pain free.

First off, anyone under the age of 16 should not get piercings, especially 11-12 yr olds? Are your parents sane? I got mine at 19. Second, do not go to run down tattoo/piercing shops, go around to 2-3 well known shops and go to the cheapest one. Third, it doesn't hurt when the needle is inserted because of the lubricant, but it may hurt a little when the needle is coming out because there is no lubricant. Also, if your guy is having trouble trying to match the needle coming out with the ball point mark, he will poke u several times. hey,anyone out there tht wants to get their belly pierced,bring sum frens along n do it for the fun of doin n juz relax..im 14 n juz had it done..surprisingly,it doesnt hurt at all.i had my 1st ear peircing after the belly piercing at the same day literally..how the artist actually do wid the belly piercing was,mine was quick n simple..juz pick out a barbell n he ll ask u to hold some ice on ur naval for 5 minutes then spraying sumthin cold then right away streching the naval a bit n juz put a sterelized needle through the naval following wid the barbell n wid juz a quick adjusment its done .. truthfully , i think my ear peircing hurts more than belly peircing..the thing now is,i have to wear tops tat covers the belly to hide it away from my parents!

You all ask if it hurts. For me, it did. The piercing itself is over in just a few seconds, but my piercing was not done straight, and not positioned right. For the next two days, I broke out in a sweat, felt dizzy, I had sharp, shooting pains throughout my whole abdomen and towards my back. My whole chest area was sore, and it was uncomfortable to breathe. I felt like I was going to pass out several times, and decided to pull the piercing out. I ended up in the emergency room, and I was really scared. It was not an infection, and it was done in a clean place. No-one has ever heard of this kind of reaction, but my guess would be that it was either an allergic reaction or a nerve was damaged. The horrible pain did not go away until next day, and all that was left then was the soreness of the piercing. I will never do it again.

People who want to get your belly button pierced don't worry at all.I'm 11 and got my navel pierced on Monday 11-28-05.The guy took me back in a big room and asked me to sit n a dentist looking chair,then asked if i wanted a hoop or barbell,i said barbell,then he marked where he was going to pierce me,he took out really small clamps out,clamped me then i looked down that seemed like some giant needle that wasnt big at all getting ready to go through me,then my mom covered my eyes joe(the piercer guy) told me to take a deep breath so i did and pop a needle went through me.It goes so fast you cant feel it.It feels like getting your ear pierced not even that bad,so it didnt hurt and its been 2 days since iv got it done. well g2g ~haley~

WHAT THE GUY DID WAS HE LET ME PICK WHAT BARBELL I WANTED, AND THEN WE WENT TO THE BACK, AFTER THAT HE RINSED THE RING WITH LISTERINE AND PUT SOME STUFF ON MY BELLY-BUTTON TO CLEAN IT. AFTER THAT HE HAD ME LAY DOWN AND HE PUT THE LITTLE SCISSOR THINGS TO HOLD THE SKIN. THEN HE WAS TALKING TO ME AND HE SAID THERE THE NEEDLE IS IN. IT ONLY FELT LIKE A PINCH. THEN HE PUT THE RING IN AND I WAS DONE. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT WHEN YOU CLEAN TO DO IT IN THE SHOWER, NOT TO PLAY WITH IT, AND NOT TO LET ANYBODY ELSE TOUCH IT BECAUSE IT WILL GET INFECTED. Ok, I really need all of your help k. I just turned 11 and my mom said i can get it done but i want to know which one is better the bar-bell or the ring cause I want one that is safer and won't get infected and i also need all your true opinions on if it hurts and please tell me what they do. I have my ear lobes pierced 3 times and I read that getting your ear-lobes pierced hurts more then your belly button. I'm going to a place called Drillers and he does it for any age. My friend got hers done when she was 10 and she's in gr 8 now but I really want to know the truth if it hurts. I'M NOT SCARED I'M JUST WONDERING. My sister is 30 and she said it dudn'thurt and it felt like a lil pinch... but she also has 4 kids ya know lol, yea I'm going to not back out because this is something I really want and I've been a wuss all my life and I'm going to go get this done and my mom and sis are going to be right there with me ^_^ Also I live in virginia and it costs like 50 bucks so yeah and uh....If you go to painfulpleasures.com they're UBER helpful about rules about piercing and stuff on how to take care of it. I'm not saying that those rules will like apply to every state I think its just more of a guide line thing. And SO WISH MEH LUCK!

Wow. I can't believe girls this young are piercing their bodies. I have a daughter that is still in elementary school and I get very nervous to think about her growing up so fast. I don't think girls under 18 should be concerned about showing off their bellies and their new jewelry. From reading the above questions and answers it seems like their time should be spent learning to spell and how to properly compose a letter. I only stumbled upon this because I was wondering how long a person needed to wait to go swimming after a belly piercing? I was planning on piercing mine and I wanted to allow sufficient time for it to heal before going on a cruise with my husband. If anyone knows the answer to this question please respond. Girls have fun being young. You have plenty of time. Let your bodies develop and mature naturally and with age and life experience make these decisions. You only get one body and one childhood so don't destroy either one. Good luck to all!
