1985 VW Scirocco

My reverse lights are always on. I brought it into the dealership because they were not working, and per the invoice, the dealer apparently replaced the backup light switch.

Now the reverse lights are on continuously when the ignition is on.  If the head lights are on or off, no matter what gear the gear shift is in, no matter if the blinkers are on - the reverse lights are alwasy on.

What did they do?
