I am a breeder of Great Danes.  Recently, one of my clients told me that her GD was pregnant with 8-12 puppies via ultrasound.  When she was taken in for her X-rays, it was discovered that she had adsorbed the whole litter.  Can anyone explain to me or point me to a site that has this specific information as to why she would adsorb and entire litter and are there any signs to prevent this in the future.
