Nothing's wrong with your turbo C. There are two kinds of errors you can make in a C program. The first kind is when you tell it something that doesn't make sense because it's not proper C grammar. The second kind is when you tell it something that makes sense (at least at the level of grammar) but isn't actually what you wanted the program to do. When your program compiles successfully, that just means there are no more errors of the first kind. Unfortunately, the second kind of error is far more dangerous and hard to find. In fact you can never be sure you've got them all; the most popular programs in use still have many bugs of this second kind. You will have to try to deduce what your program is doing, and where that differs from what you wanted it to do; one thing that can help is installing extra temporary code to monitor and report each step of what it does.
