Abstract:
A drain cleaning tool including a sealing member, which has a
through-hole. With the sealing member positioned about the opening of the
drain, coupling the member to a source of compressed air, allows
compressed air to pass through the sealing member by means of the
through-hole to clear the drain of obstructions.Claims:
1. A drain cleaning tool comprising:a. a sealing member constructed of a
nonporous pliable resilient material for sealing against a drain
opening,b. a through-hole in said member to allow compressed air to pass
through said member, andc. means for coupling said member to a source of
compressed air, whereby said through-hole in said member will allow
compressed air to be shoot into said drain, clearing said drain of
obstructions.Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0004]This invention relates to a plumbing tool for cleaning and clearing clogged, or dirty pipes that are associated with plumbing.
[0005]Plumbing and drainpipes are well known for becoming clogged and backed up. Prior devices for cleaning and clearing pipes of clogs, and debris have had many disadvantages. One major disadvantage is that prior devices have been very difficult for the average person with no prior plumbing experience and with no professional training to use properly and effectively. Another common problem is that due to the curves and bends associated with drainpipes, not all devices can reach the clog.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006]This invention is directed to a plumbing tool for clearing clogs in plumbing drainpipes. The object of the present invention is to provide an easy to operate and efficient tool for cleaning plumbing drainpipes.
[0007]The drain cleaning tool comprises a sealing member to fit about the opening of a drain. The shape of the sealing member allows the tool to make an air tight seal about the opening of the drain. The drain cleaning tool has a through-hole so as to allow compressed air to pass through the tool. The air cleaning tool is connected to a source of compressed air. The source of compressed air used in conjunction with the air tight sealing properties of the drain cleaning tool allows the operator of the drain cleaning tool to shoot high pressured air into the clogged drain. Thus, clearing the clogged drain of obstructions.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWINGS
[0008]FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the drain cleaning tool used to clean a plumbing drainpipe of obstructions.
[0009]FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the drain cleaning tool used to clean a plumbing drainpipe of obstructions in operative engagement with a drain opening.
[0010]FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the drain cleaning tool.
[0011]FIG. 4 is a top view of the drain cleaning tool.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0012]Referring to FIG. 1, a drain cleaning tool, indicated generally at 1, is used to clear a plumbing drain of obstructions. Drain cleaning tool 1 has a through-hole 2 that allows compressed air to pass through drain cleaning tool 1. FIG. 2 shows the drain cleaning tool 1 in operative engagement against drain 3, allowing for an air tight seal against drain 3. Drain cleaning tool 1 is positioned to allow compressed air to pass through the through-hole 2. FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the drain cleaning tool 1, showing the through-hole 2 that allows compressed air to pass through the drain cleaning tool 1. FIG. 4 is a top view of the drain cleaning tool 1 that shows the through-hole 2, that allows compressed air to pass through drain cleaning tool 1.
[0013]While there has been shown and described a preferred embodiment of the drain cleaning tool of this invention. It is understood that changes in structure, materials, sizes, and shapes can be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the invention. The invention is defined in the following claims.
