Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery - Face lift

Face lifting, or rhytidoplasty , is a form of cosmetic surgery designed to eliminate as far as possible signs of aging, such as wrinkles, pouches under the chin and eyes, and sagging tissue generally.

In deciding on the advisability of a face lift, a reputable surgeon will take into account the person's age, emotional stability, and physical condition. The main procedure involves tightening the skin after the surplus has been removed. The resuiting scars are usually hidden in the hair and behindthe ears. Those directly in front of the ears are visible only under very close scrutiny. Even after a face lift, however, the same wrinkles will eventually reappear, owing to the characteristic use of the individual's facial muscles.
