Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery - Eyelids

The shape and size of the eyelids can be changed by an operation called a blepharoplasty . In this procedure, an incision is made in the fold of the upper eyelid, and excess skin and fat are removed. The technique can be used to correct congenital deformities, such as hanging upper eyelids that do not fully open. When a comparable incision is made below the lash line on the lower lid, the surgeon can remove the fat that causes bags under the eyes.
