Starting With Some Easy Exercises

F eel like starting slowly? A lot of people don't launch a full-scale program all at once. Rather, they test themselves, try out some simple exercises, stay with those on some kind of schedule for two to six weeks or longer, depending on how they take to their newly exercise-oriented lifestyle, and make sure they are enjoying the whole thing. Others integrate the simple exercises into full-scale programs from the beginning.

A simple preliminary program can introduce the neophyte to the world of exercise. A couple of simple rules will be useful. First, the exercise should feel good while you are doing it. The feeling should persist after the exercise is over.

Starting slowly ensures that the Great Resolution that has brought you to a total fitness program will not die a horrible death. If the road to perdition is paved with good intentions, the road to fitness is flooded with them.
