UNEP-WG-SPD (United Nations Environment Program - Working Group
on Sustainable Product Development) aims to develop and promote
sustainable product development (SPD). To this end examples of
products, systems and services are being sourced from around the
world and discussed here.
The information on the examples is stored in a graphic orientated
database with supportive text, which is used in several ways.
The database will be distributed among members of the UNEP-WGD-SPD
network, serve as a basis for UNEP-WGD-SPD publications,
and will be used for workshops and as educational material.
The database is also available on the UNEP-WG-SPD World Wide Web
server http://unep.frw.uva.nl

This listserv has been implemented to facilitate the distribution of
Enviro-Newsbrief, the daily update produced by the U.S. EPA
Headquarters Library.
Enviro-Newsbrief provides a summary of the news that affects EPA,
especially:
Appointments to EPA and other environment-related appointments;
the Council on Environmental Quality; changes to OMB's process of
regulatory review; regulatory reform; "reinventing government";
environmental legislation, especially reauthorization of key
legislation; federal employee issues; and interagency work on
environmental issues.
As the principal purpose of the list is the distribution of
Enviro-Newsbrief, the list will not function as a discussion group.
Messages cannot be submitted to the list for posting.

The list is particularly meant for environmental scientists.
It will distribute recent information about publications
(abstract and source), courses, educational programmes,
resource information, workhops and conferences. The emphasis
of this list is on the supply of information in stead of being
a forum for discussions. However, requests of members for
information on these matters to others are welcome too.
We have deliberately chosen for a open distribution list and
ask you to send also information to this list.

The BioGroup was established to provide
a global forum for the technical community to discuss
intrinsic/enhanced bioremediation topics.
GZA hopes this forum provides a medium to transfer
technology, standardize biotreatability protocols, and advance the
science and engineering of bioremediation technologies.
GZA recognizes bioremediation is not a panacea for soil/groundwater
contamination; however, we feel it is an under-utilized remediation
technology, its limitations notwithstanding.
BioGroup postings are archived as a collaborative effort of the
Department of Environmental Biology (University of Guelph),
the Groundwater Remediation Project
(National Water Research Institute, Environment Canada), and GZA.
You can visit the archive at
http://gwrp.cciw.ca/internet/bioremediation/biorem-archive.html
To subscribe to the mailing list, please visit the BioGroup home
page at http://biogroup.gzea.com, select "Join Us", and follow the
directions therein.
Members may choose to participate in either a non-digest mode (i.e.,
receive each message at the time it is posted) or a digest mode
(i.e., receive one message each day summarizing all the postings of
that day).
Bioremediation Discussion Group (BioGroup), an Internet mailing
list serving nearly 1,000 environmental scientists/engineeers
worldwide which also maintain a searchable archive at their web
site at http://biogroup.gzea.com/
and there are links at that site to over 30 scientific/engineering
newsgroups as well as numerous mailing lists.
