  In 1978 U.S. Senate approves transfer of Panama Canal to Panama.
  In 1979 TV show "Real People" premiers.
  In 1980 Nation of Zimbabwe founded (formerly Rhodesia).
  In 1981 Pawtuckett and Rochester become involved in a 33 inning game.
  In 1983 An unidentified suicide bomber blows up the U.S. embassy in Beirut,
          the most devastating terrorist attack against any U.S. diplomatic
          post.  The U.S. responds by siding with the Lebanese Forces militia
          in the Lebanese civil war.
