<4.8> What do these numbers like "1.2" mean?
In posts and price lists, it's not uncommon to see people say something about "1.2 California kingsnakes" or "8.2.32 African clawed frogs". This is a way of concisely specifying the sexes of the animals; the first example means one male Cal king and two females, and the second means eight male frogs, two females, and 32 whose sex is not known.
