Here's an excerpt from the registry information: This registry is setting out to register all the [pet] African Pygmy Hedgehogs. We want to do this to a) take a census of all the Hedgehogs that are out there b) to cut down on unwanted inbreeding by unknowing breeders and c) to help track behavoral and genetic traits. This is a great chance for your pets to help add to our knowledge about hedgehogs, so please do register. Registration is free, although for $10.00 U.S. they do provide a really nice registration certificate, should you want one. You can get more information, and register online at their web page: (Note: new address as of June 2000 -- thanks to Jeffery Allen) http://www.hedgehogregistry.com/ or by mail to: IHR Headquarters Jennifer Young-Watson P.O.
