Sets released: Alliances, Mirage Major changes: - The card templating for instants and sorceries with an additional cost changed in Mirage to writing the cost in the one-shot effect, separated by a colon. Trivia: - Mirage was the first set that was designed as a block and with limited play in mind as well as constructed. It also had 'theme decks', the first preconstructed decks for an expansion.
