From: Hierarchical Storage Management The uncle of UNIX HSMs. Developed primarily at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories. Commercialized by a company called DISCOS, then sold to OpenVision. UniTree was sold to UniTree Software in December, 1994. See http://www.unitree.com. Many versions exist on different hardware platforms, including a National Storage Lab (NSL) UniTree commercialized by IBM - Fed Systems. It's also available on SGI, Convex, and Amdahl hardware, at least.
