Ah yes, I remember Tom "the mad newgrouper" Servo. *spit*
He had a short-lived bout of fame as the person who would issue
newgroups for _any_ group proposed in alt.config, and for a while
was publishing an "alternative" How-to-create-an-alt-group FAQ
that was basically just instructions on how to properly send a
newgroup control message and a bunch of vituperation at some
alt.config regulars.
Legend has it that he later changed his mind a bit and became a
one of the alt.config curmudgeons a la Joel Furr, but I wouldn't
know, since I killfiled the bozo (and nuked him out of my control.ctl's)
pretty instantly.
