As others have already mentioned, that may be odd, but it's standard
Usenet behavior. I'll be sure to change the guidelines and approval
information *.answers sends out to strengthen that point. Our
apologies for the confusion and flames you endured.

In most moderated newsgroups, the moderator does all the posting,
rather than authorizing other people to add their own approval
headers. If anyone accused you of adding the header improperly (as
opposed to simply not knowing that one header would suffice for all
newsgroups), point them to the *.answers introduction, which explains
our process:
