I also find hundreds of pointers to my FAQs that point to out-dated or dead
archive sites.
My experience on getting pointers and mirrors updated is a little better, but
not better than 1 in 4

Yes, this a a major problem. I find that complaints about out-dated material,
and questions that were dealt with in later versions, are more common than
real (new) queries. Sigh...
