I've been on both sides of this, as an author and an FAQ archive admin.
What I'd think would be the most productive is two fold.
First, contact the administrator at that site and ask why they are
making out of date FAQs available. If the public was to become aware that
the site was not current or at least trying to be it might not be in the
best interests of the site.
The reasons this can happen can be as simple to fix as they're mirroring
configuration was inadvertantly messed up. It may be that they were
mirroring manually (heaven forbid). It may be that the person that managed
the archive site no longer works there and the new admin has no clue there
is an FAQ archive there. Most admins making files publicly available try
to do the right thing. Give them a chance to fix it by letting them know
there is a problem.
Second, post the site that is out-of-date here so that other FAQ maintainers
can check to see if the site is totally dated or if it is a specific FAQ.
It's amazing what a few email messages from multiple people will do to get
and admin's interest... ;)
Be prepared though, they might decide to drop the FAQ archive altogether.
