I used the FAQ checker two weeks ago for mine, with a newsgroups line
just slightly longer than 80 characters, and had no problem.
Maybe if you sent a copy of that newsgroups line to the list, or
emailed a copy of your FAQ as you're submitting it to someone, we
could at least verify your experiment that it's not your mailers.
