An archive probably closely resembles the microfilming (or fiching) of a
newspaper, where everything is "dumped" into this archiving format
without any sort of editorial selectivity. Patrons can go to the
microfilm and look at what they want and print copies. Whoever
"publishes" in that newspaper should know by default that the issues get
microfilmed and would thus be available later on for retrieval.

One of the points I made to Drago originally was that if he starts
deleting posts selectively from his archive, then he will be changing his
role from that of an archive maintainer, to an editor. As I am sure you
will all agree, that is the similar problem that Prodigy fell under, and
in effect, gave them far more responsibility and liability potential.

As someone else posted, I totally agree that the posts should remain in
the archive if they are going to be used for legal purposes. The offender
is basically asking Drago to "get rid of the evidence." Seems to me this
is a very good lesson in learning that you have to be responsible when
you post, eh?
