Forgive me if this seems an intemperate and injudicious response, but
the losers using such brain-damaged crocks of shit are not in a
position to dictate how *anybody* ought to behave on Usenet, let alone
dictate how FAQ maintainers ought to conduct themselves.
Let them beg, cajole, threaten, or complain to the creators of
whatever broken software they're using. Let them learn how to use
(God forbid) trn or some other real newsreader on a shell account.
Let them write their own damn software, or pay some third party for
something better. Let the market address their needs, and let a
thousand applications bloom. But do not let a group of clueless
newsreaders (software or wetware) declare their own incompetence to be
a universal standard.
Harrumph.
