A few months ago, I took over maintaining the FAQ for rec.models.rockets.
I had previously been maintaining a section of the r.m.r. FAQ.
The torch was passed easily. The former maintainer simply stopped. I
started. When I had any questions, he helped me out anyway he could.
It may not be so easy for you to simply let it go, but IMHO the best way is
to just let the new maintainer get to work. Help him/her out as questions
come up.
