Following solutions are possible to reduce work on
two files, the ASCII-faq and its HTML-Version:
1) Write only a HTML-Version !
Use Mosaic's feature of saving formatted text
from a HTML-page. This will produce a really
nice ASCII-Version (tip came from pfeifer@fokus.gmd.de
maintainer of the lego-faq).
2) Write a Winword-Version !
Then use a program called DOS.ZIP from ftp.cray.com
to convert that to ASCII (tip came from Chad Fogg
maintainer of the MPEG-2-faq)
3) Write a ASCII-version !
Use faq2html to produce a html-version (perl-script).
4) Write a ASCII-version !
Then use the tools I wrote to produce the META-FAQ
CD-Rom (still working on it).
My tools are defny doing the nicest conversion,
but they will be only available AFTER the CD-Rom
is released (my way of giving something back to
the faq maintainers that helped making that project
real.
Have a close look at that new outfit. My new Alpha2-Version
of the MPEG-FAQ is available under:

USERNAME: mpegfaq
PASSWORD: alphafaq
Suggestions welcome ;o)
