I'm in the process of writing a FAQ for a mailing list where I want to
give pointers to files as well as to directories. Without knowing to much
about it, I am imitating what I see elsewhere. Examples:
This is an interesting file:
<ftp://oak.oakland.edu/pub/hamradio/docs/misc/megalist.txt>
This is the directory where the archives of our beloved mailing list can
be retrieved:
<ftp://qrp@think.com/pub/radio/ham/qrp/archives>
Now the simple question is: Is this correct? Are directories and files
handled all the same? Or should I append a "/*" to the archives
directory to denote that I in fact mean all the files stored in that
directory?
And yes, I am a beginner at this business :-)
