faq-server and mailing lists

The newsgroup rec.sport.fencing is echoed in a digest
mailing list to various subscribers. The Fencing FAQ is
posted via MIT's faq-server to r.s.f every 15 days, but if an
update hasn't occurred in the interval, then the content is
identical to the previous time it was posted. Trouble is, the
mailing list server rejects the FAQ in these circumstances
because of a checksum match -- it doesn't want to serve
duplicate posts.

Should I just ignore this problem, and leave it for the mailing
list admins to sort out? They would like to see something
like a "Posted-On:" field in the secondary header so that
the checksum will be unique every time it gets posted. I
assume that faq-server will not do this, and inserting it
myself before every posting would obviate the main reason
for using faq-server. Any other suggestions?
